This domestic business segment comprises the Company (Yoshitake Inc.), Kawaki Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Yoshitake Armstrong Co., Ltd., and Yoshitake Biomass Engineering Co., Ltd. The segment centers on automatic control valves such as pressure reducing valves and flow meters, and develops proposal-based sales activities targeting the factory equipment market, building equipment market, and steel-related market, among others. The Group formulates and executes an integrated management plan spanning production through sales as a unified entity, and also handles export sales through the equity-method affiliate Armstrong Yoshitake.
Recent Overview
Driven by the factory equipment market, domestic sales rose 1.1% year on year, and segment profit improved significantly, up 22.4%
In the Japan Segment for FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales in the steel-related market were sluggish as the large-scale project that occurred in the prior period did not recur, while Wise Jacket and Magnet Mixer performed well in the factory equipment market, pushing overall domestic sales up 1.1% year on year. Segment profit increased 22.4%, from ¥843 million to ¥1,032 million, driven by thorough efforts in production efficiency improvement, labor-hour reduction, and cost reduction. In addition, the goodwill related to Yoshitake Biomass Engineering Co., Ltd., acquired at the end of the prior period, was fully amortized during the current period, bringing the goodwill balance to zero.
Key Products
Growth Drivers
- Continued strong performance of Wise Jacket (an energy-saving, CO2-reducing product) and Magnet Mixer for medical institutions and pharmaceutical plants in the factory equipment market
- Improvement in profit margin through thorough efforts in production efficiency improvement, labor-hour reduction, and cost reduction (segment profit margin improved from 10.9% in the prior period to 13.2% in the current period)
- Strengthened sales activities across the three areas of distributors, end users, and building projects to secure orders for building equipment projects
- Expansion of the product lineup and promotion of product development for new markets (strict adherence to development schedules and shortening of development periods)
- Improved procurement stability through supply chain diversification, including in-house production
- Steady support for demand from resilient domestic capital expenditure trends, centered on AI, semiconductor, and decarbonization-related fields
Risks
- Risk of sales fluctuation depending on the occurrence of large-scale projects in the steel-related market (sales were sluggish in FY2026 (ending March 2026) due to the absence of the large-scale project seen in the prior period)
- Risk of sales downturn due to delays in the commencement or construction period of urban redevelopment projects in the building equipment market
- Limited recovery in exports and suppressed corporate capital expenditure appetite due to the impact of trade policies such as additional U.S. tariffs
- Risk of rising procurement costs for naphtha-related materials due to price increases and foreign exchange fluctuations
- Risk of natural disasters and supply chain disruption (supply chain diversification, including in-house production, is recognized as a challenge)
