Business Details

Canare Electric's Japan segment is responsible for the manufacturing and domestic sales of Broadcasting & Communication Cables, Harness, Connector, and Equipment (Passive & Electronic). Manufacturing subsidiaries (Canare Harness, Canare Connected Products, and Canare System Works) handle production, while the Company handles sales to the domestic market. The main customers are the broadcasting market, the electrical construction market, and the distribution market, and in the first quarter of FY2026 (ending December 2026), sales to external customers accounted for approximately 50% of the entire group, making it the largest segment.

Recent Overview

Decline in NHK-related projects weighed on the broadcasting market, resulting in a sharp 16.0% year-on-year decline in domestic sales

In the first quarter of FY2026 (ending December 2026), in the electrical construction market, the Nagoya International Conference Center renovation project and fiscal year-end delivery projects progressed as planned, and sales remained on par with the previous year. On the other hand, in the broadcasting market, although system renewal projects were largely executed as planned, the decrease from the NHK project recorded in the previous period could not be offset, resulting in domestic sales of ¥1,611 million (down 16.0% year on year) and segment profit of ¥336 million (down 26.7% year on year), representing a decline in both revenue and profit.
