Business

BeStyle Holdings, Inc. traces its origins to a housewife-focused staffing service founded in 2002 and transitioned to a pure holding company structure in 2020; the company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market (listed December 2024). Through four consolidated subsidiaries, the company operates four businesses: staffing and placement services for housewives and highly skilled workers (Smart Career, Shufu JOB Staffing); operation of the housewife-focused job media platform "Shufu JOB"; DX support through BPA and IT engineer staffing; and promotion of employment for people with disabilities via a special subsidiary. Its main clients range from large corporations to small and medium-sized enterprises, with particular strength in recruitment support for industries facing tight demand for female labor, such as healthcare/welfare, food service/restaurants, and retail/wholesale. Consolidated net sales for FY2025 (ended March 2025) were ¥11,214 million.

Business Model

There are two revenue pillars. The staffing/placement business (61.9% of sales) is a labor-intensive model in which the personnel costs of dispatched staff are recorded as cost of sales, with the number of active workers and the transaction unit price determining revenue. The media business (31.2% of sales) is a high-margin model that earns revenue from job-posting companies through three forms of charges tied to "Shufu JOB": hiring fees, listing fees, and application fees. Cross-selling between the two businesses (attracting staffing clients from media) forms the group's overall competitive advantage. The DX business (6.9% of sales) is growing complementarily through BPA solutions and IT engineer staffing.

Company Strengths

Since its founding in 2002, the company has specialized in the housewife and flexible worker segment for approximately 20 years, maintaining a part-time staffing ratio of around 82% (FY2025, ended March 2025). Its accumulated job-seeker database and recruitment know-how form a barrier to entry, establishing a differentiated position from the full-time staffing market, which has many competitors.

"Shufu JOB" achieved net sales of ¥3,522 million and segment profit of ¥1,144 million (profit margin of 32.5%) in FY2025 (ended March 2025). Following the April 2024 fee revision, the average transaction value per client rose from ¥68,307 to ¥83,270, while the number of listing clients expanded from 5,447 to 5,783. Improved brand recognition driven by television commercial investment boosted both the number of applications and listing orders.

Through staffing customer acquisition (cross-selling) via the "Shufu JOB" media platform, the company suppresses new lead acquisition costs for its staffing and placement business. This intra-group structure, in which media and staffing complement one another, is a unique competitive advantage not found in standalone staffing companies or job media operators, and is explicitly promoted as part of the company's management strategy.

ENVALITH's Perspective

For FY2026 (ending March 2026), the company secured revenue growth with net sales of ¥12,009 million (up 7.1% year on year), but operating profit fell sharply to ¥190 million (down 41.2% from ¥323 million in the prior period), and net income for the period dropped sharply to ¥51 million (down 74.0% from ¥196 million in the prior period). Financial position was affected by an impairment loss recorded on office vacating associated with the consolidation of business locations, as well as a correction of an error in recording prepaid expenses and other items (no impact on profit or loss). The pattern of cost increases outpacing the benefits of revenue growth has persisted, making profitability improvement an urgent priority.

On June 23, 2026, a partial correction to the financial results (kessan tanshin) for FY2026 (ending March 2026) was announced. Due to an error in recording prepaid expenses and other items, "Other" under current assets for the prior consolidated fiscal year (FY2025, ended March 2025) was revised from ¥126,834 thousand to ¥105,031 thousand, and "Long-term prepaid expenses" under fixed assets was revised from ¥0 to ¥21,803 thousand, changing total fixed assets from ¥475,964 thousand to ¥497,767 thousand. While the correction is stated to have no impact on profit or loss, the error was discovered during the preparation of the annual securities report (yukashoken hokokusho), and continued attention is warranted from an internal controls perspective.

Total consolidated assets shrank from ¥4,150 million in FY2025 (ended March 2025) to ¥3,875 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026). Cash and deposits declined by more than ¥420 million. On a non-consolidated basis, the equity ratio improved from 14.1% in FY2025 (ended March 2025) to 21.7% in FY2026 (ending March 2026), but the absolute level remains low. In the external environment, the worsening labor shortage serves as a tailwind, but intensifying competition and rising social insurance premium burdens continue to weigh on earnings, making structural improvement in profit margins key to investment decisions.

Growth Strategy

Maximizing group profitability through enhanced media-staffing cross-selling and development of the DX business

Promoting the entrenchment of the fee revision implemented in April 2024 (transaction amount of ¥83,270 per company) and the continued expansion of listed companies through new agency acquisition and enhanced support for existing agencies. Also continuing brand awareness improvement measures through expansion of TV commercial broadcast areas.

Promoting cross-selling to direct job seekers acquired through Shufu JOB media toward the staffing business, and aiming to recover placement (job introduction) revenue through an increase in the number of hires from placement-track temporary staffing (introduction-scheduled dispatch). Also concurrently advancing revenue diversification through the launch of the medical field business.

Promoting continued receipt of large-scale RPA-related projects in the BPA business and expansion of IT engineer staffing and outsourcing services. Aiming to expand the customer base through an increase in the number of client companies (from 56 to 61) and to expand transaction unit prices through an improved ratio of end-user clients.

In FY2026 (ending March 2026), office vacating associated with the consolidation of business locations was implemented, and an impairment loss on tangible fixed assets was recorded. Structural reform aimed at improving profitability through fixed cost reduction is currently underway. This is positioned as foundational groundwork for future recovery of profit margins.
