Food hygiene and food safety risk
If a food poisoning incident such as norovirus occurs, it could undermine customer trust and adversely affect business performance. The Company has established a Food Hygiene Countermeasures Committee, conducting training sessions, hygiene guidance, and hygiene inspections by external institutions, while also introducing "hygiene management incorporating HACCP concepts" to promote visualization of food hygiene management.
Fire prevention, disaster prevention, and accident risk
Because the Company operates through physical stores, large-scale earthquakes, fires, and other natural disasters or accidents could affect the continued operation of stores. Under the Fire and Disaster Prevention Countermeasures Committee, the Company promotes participation in disaster prevention drills at each sales office and in lifesaving training courses hosted by the Tokyo Fire Department, and has established a response system for emergencies.
Retirement benefit obligation risk
If pension asset investment returns deteriorate or the discount rate declines due to prolonged ultra-low interest rate policies, actuarial differences may be recognized as a lump-sum expense in the following fiscal year, potentially adversely affecting business performance and financial condition. The Company monitors the operating status of its corporate pension fund by appointing appropriate delegate representatives and receiving regular operational reports.
Customer personal information leakage risk
The Company holds a large volume of customer personal information, and if an information leak occurs due to criminal acts or other causes, it could damage social trust, leading to decreased sales, compensation claims, and other impacts on business performance. As part of the activities of the Information Management Committee, the Company works to raise employee awareness and ensure thorough compliance through explanations at employee training sessions and postings of precautions on the internal intranet.
Infectious disease outbreak and spread risk
If authorities impose regulations or requests for voluntary restraint in response to the outbreak or spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19, business continuity could be disrupted, potentially affecting business performance. The Infectious Disease Countermeasures Committee has established a system for rapid information gathering, countermeasure planning, and company-wide instructions, and has built an infection prevention system including the installation of disinfectant and CO2 sensors and the establishment of a work-from-home system.
Fundraising and covenant risk
If the Company breaches covenants (such as financial restriction clauses) attached to its loan agreements, it may lose the benefit of the term for the relevant debt, potentially having a material impact on its financial condition. Specific covenant details are described in "Material Contracts, etc.," and management of financial indicators is an important issue.
Importance and likelihood are shown based on the company's disclosures.
