Business Details

Manufactures and sells the Company's brand products (Vinyl Flooring, Carpet, Wallcovering Materials, Window Treatment, etc.) within Japan, and also handles purchasing/sales of interior products and services as well as interior construction. The segment captures demand from lodging facilities responding to inbound tourism and from office renovation needs, while focusing on new product development, sales promotion of high-value-added products, and reduction of manufacturing costs. From FY2026 (ending March 2026), this is a new segment reorganized from the former two categories, "Products Business" and "Interior Wholesale & Construction Business."

Recent Overview

New product promotion and cost reduction efforts drove significant year-on-year growth in both sales and profit

In FY2026 (ending March 2026), the Interior Business achieved net sales of ¥107,231 million (up 6.5% year on year) and segment profit of ¥5,156 million (up 17.8% year on year). This was driven by increased sales volume, primarily in Vinyl Flooring and Wallcovering Materials, the effect of reduced manufacturing costs, and price increases on some products that lifted selling prices. On the other hand, profit was partially pressured by increased depreciation and amortization (¥3,215 million) associated with large-scale capital investment, as well as higher logistics costs and personnel expenses.

Key Products

Vinyl Flooring

The launch of new products such as the "Tile Collection" and "Loose Lay Tile Series," together with continued market penetration of the "Sheet Collection NW" launched in the previous fiscal year, drove sales significantly above the prior year. The segment achieved both expansion of high-value-added products and reduction of manufacturing costs.

Carpet

As part of the expansion of the general-purpose nylon tile carpet lineup, a new pattern for "GA-3600 Sustiback" was launched and the "GA-100 Series" was renewed. The environmentally-friendly backing "Sustiback" received the 2025 Good Design Award, boosting recognition of its recycling system.

Wallcovering Materials

The new brand sample book "TOLI GRAND WALL COLLECTION," the general-purpose vinyl wallpaper "Toli Wall VS," and the fully fire-retardant certified wallpaper "DECOPOWER" performed well in volume terms. In February, the fire-retardant decorative finishing material "Real Deco" was launched with an expanded item lineup, and overall sales of Wallcovering Materials grew significantly.

Window Treatment

In addition to sales promotion activities for the newly launched Toli curtain "fuful," the Company focused on promoting contract curtains for schools and medical/welfare facilities as well as window-related products through group sales companies, resulting in sales exceeding the prior year.

Interior Construction & Interior Products Purchasing/Sales

Group sales companies handle the purchasing and sale of interior products as well as interior construction. Demand from lodging facilities responding to inbound tourism and from office renovation needs remained solid.

Growth Drivers

  • Market penetration and enhanced sales promotion of high-value-added new products in Vinyl Flooring (Tile Collection, Loose Lay Tile Series, Sheet Collection NW)
  • Progress in reducing manufacturing costs through three major capital investment projects (the No. 3 line at the Hiroshima Toli Floor plant, the tile carpet recycling plant, and nylon spinning equipment for carpets)
  • Solid trends in demand from lodging facilities and office renovations driven by inbound tourism demand
  • Upward revision of selling prices through list price adjustments for some products
  • Enhanced brand value and recognition of the recycling system from the Good Design Award won by the environmentally-friendly tile carpet "Sustiback"
  • Expansion of the product lineup through the launch of new Wallcovering Materials products (such as Real Deco)

Risks

  • Sharp rise in raw material prices from April onward due to the intensifying situation in the Middle East, and risk of supply chain disruption
  • Cost pressure from persistently high prices of key raw materials such as PVC resin and nylon yarn, as well as high energy costs
  • Sluggish sales volume in the housing market due to weak new housing starts
  • Rising logistics costs (due to labor shortages and working-hour regulations) and higher personnel expenses accompanying wage increases
  • Increased depreciation and amortization associated with large-scale capital investment (FY2026 (ending March 2026): ¥3,215 million, up 11.7% year on year)
  • A factor reducing profit in FY2027 (ending March 2026) due to the time lag from the selling price revision (effective for orders received from July 27)
