Business Details
This core business provides manufacturing and sale of Molds for Plastic Molding and Precision Plastic Components, along with various design operations and engineering support services. It handles components for digital home appliances such as digital cameras and video cameras, automotive-related equipment such as car navigation systems and ETC units, electronic pens, and medical devices. The segment maintains production sites in four countries—Japan, Vietnam, China, and Thailand—with Sony Technology Thailand Co., Ltd. (16.6% of sales) and Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. (12.2% of sales) as major customers. This is the flagship segment, accounting for approximately 97% of the Group's consolidated net sales.
Recent Overview
Achieved increases in both sales and profit driven by increased orders for digital camera components, automotive-related components, and molds.
In FY2026 (ending March 2026), segment sales (including internal sales) reached ¥28,864 million (up 8.5% year on year), primarily driven by increased orders for digital camera components at the Thailand site, firm order trends for automotive-related components, and increased orders for molds. Cost reductions through labor savings and streamlining also contributed, resulting in an increase in segment profit to ¥1,872 million (up 2.8% year on year). Note that, following the deconsolidation of the Precision Press Components Business (Tachibana Seiki Co., Ltd.), the reportable segments from this fiscal year consist of two segments: the Plastic Molding Business and the Printed Circuit Board Business. Capital expenditure decreased significantly, from ¥2,677 million in the prior fiscal year to ¥992 million.
