Business
Takebishi Corporation is a technology trading company founded in 1926 that operates as an agent for manufacturers including Mitsubishi Electric, spanning four business areas: Industrial Equipment Systems, Semiconductors & Devices, Social Infrastructure, and Information & Communications. Under a group structure including 15 consolidated subsidiaries, the company maintains nationwide operations centered on its Kyoto headquarters domestically, and operates global bases overseas in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, India, Vietnam, and other locations. Its major customers span a wide range including manufacturing industries, medical institutions, telecommunications carriers, and defense-related entities, and the company positions itself as a "total solution technology trading company" that provides an integrated offering extending beyond mere product sales to include installation work, system integration, software development, and maintenance services. Consolidated net sales for FY2026 (ending March 2026) reached ¥109,862 million.
Business Model
The company has signed long-term agency agreements with major manufacturers such as Mitsubishi Electric and Omron, with procurement and sales of products as its core business. Although the cost of sales ratio is high at 85.7%, the company seeks to differentiate itself by combining value-added services such as installation work, on-site adjustment, and systems integration. Approximately 20% of net sales consists of high-value transactions involving installation work, with some individual deals exceeding ¥100 million. Overseas sales leveraging global locations and business expansion through M&A also function as revenue sources.
Company Strengths
The agency agreement with Mitsubishi Electric has a history of over 80 years since the conclusion of the special agency agreement in 1944, maintaining a comprehensive contract covering more than 10 product categories including rotating machinery, power distribution control, FA equipment, air conditioning, elevators, and power devices. This long-term business relationship functions as an entry barrier that is difficult for competitors to replicate in a short period.
Domestically, the company operates locations centered on its Kyoto head office, including Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo, Kyushu, Shiga, Kihoku, and Kurita, while overseas it has group locations in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Thailand, Singapore, India, and Vietnam. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales of electronic components for automotive and infrastructure applications in India progressed steadily, demonstrating that the global network is making an actual contribution to revenue.
With the FA & Device Business accounting for 70.7% of net sales and the Social Infrastructure & Information & Communications Business accounting for 29.3%, the company combines the differing economic sensitivities of the manufacturing sector's capital expenditure cycle with demand for medical and social infrastructure. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), even amid an inventory adjustment phase for FA equipment, the Social Infrastructure & Information & Communications segment demonstrated a complementary function, increasing 22.7% year on year.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue grew from ¥81,603 million in FY2022 to ¥97,404 million in FY2023, ¥101,355 million in FY2024, ¥100,965 million in FY2025 (a slight decline), and then accelerated to ¥109,862 million in FY2026, following a plateau in FY2025. Operating profit had peaked at ¥3,919 million in FY2023 before declining to ¥3,426 million in FY2025, but rebounded to ¥4,084 million in FY2026, marking a new record high. As external factors, expanding demand for medical equipment (Social Infrastructure & Information & Communications Business segment: +22.7%), growth in the security camera ODM business, and electronic component demand in India (Semiconductors & Devices segment: +13.8%) pushed up performance. On the other hand, prolonged inventory adjustment for FA equipment weighed on the Industrial Equipment Systems segment (-1.9%), widening the growth disparity between segments. Operating CF improved to ¥2,981 million (versus ¥1,819 million in the previous period), and the equity ratio rose to 68.1%, confirming a strengthening of the financial structure.
Growth Strategy
Under the mid-term management plan 'T-Link1369', the company aims to achieve net sales of ¥130.0 billion, ordinary income of ¥6.0 billion, and ROE of 9% in FY2026 (ending March 2026)
Sales of electronic components for infrastructure equipment and automotive-related applications in India have remained solid. Combined sales for Singapore and other Asia in FY2026 (ending March 2026) expanded to ¥23,030 million (versus ¥20,378 million in the previous fiscal year). The company continues to strengthen its sales network in growing Asian markets.
Radiation Cancer Therapy Equipment & Medical Diagnostic Equipment have performed well, driven by business area expansion into the Chushikoku region. Sales in the Social Infrastructure segment achieved strong growth, reaching ¥22,942 million (up 22.7% year on year). The medical equipment field is functioning as a key driver of revenue diversification.
Against a backdrop of capital investment and automation demand in the manufacturing sector, equipment systems increased, led mainly by semiconductor- and LCD-related applications. Industrial PCs for AI-related applications also expanded. On the other hand, prolonged customer inventory adjustments across FA Equipment as a whole remain a challenge, with the Industrial Equipment Systems segment down 1.9% year on year.
The company is focusing on business model transformation beyond existing frameworks, such as 'Mobility', 'Materials', 'Energy Solutions', and 'DX Promotion'. The Environmental Analysis Business & Structural Survey and Design Business at Fuji Telecoms has begun contributing to results.
