Business
Retty Inc., under its vision of "Creating new dining experiences to make life happier," operates the real-name gourmet platform "Retty," launched in 2011. Built on a foundation of real-name credibility through integration with Facebook accounts and other services, the platform has accumulated highly reliable reviews and data on over 800,000 restaurants. The company operates two business pillars: customer acquisition and reservation support services for restaurants, and advertising content services for advertisers and data-utilizing companies. Its main customers are restaurants nationwide (7,435 paying members) and advertiser companies in the food and beverage, cosmetics, travel, and real estate industries, among others. The company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market (now the Growth Market) in 2020.
Business Model
Restaurant Support Services, which account for approximately 75% of revenue, are based on a subscription model in which paying stores pay a fixed monthly amount, combined with usage-based charges linked to the number of online reservations, forming a recurring-revenue (stock-type) business. The remaining approximately 25% consists of advertising solutions (promotional listings and restaurant acquisition support) and the monthly license provision of the "Food Data Platform," which utilizes accumulated data. In FY2025 (ending September 2025), revenue was ¥1,630 million and operating profit was ¥19 million, achieving its first full-year profit.
Company Strengths
Since the service launch in 2011, the company has continuously accumulated action data such as reviews, browsing logs, follows, and "likes" from real-name users. Store data covering approximately 800,000 stores along with photo and review data is provided as a "Food Data Platform" to industries beyond restaurants, including cosmetics, travel, and real estate, serving as a diversified revenue source.
Since FY2023 (ended September 2023), the company has implemented fixed cost reductions including office downsizing/relocation, review of outsourcing expenses, and reduced recruitment costs. In FY2025 (ended September 2025), selling, general and administrative expenses were ¥1,123 million (down 5.4% year on year), and combined with net sales of ¥1,630 million (up 4.4% year on year), this resulted in the first full-year operating profit of ¥19 million.
In FY2025 (ended September 2025), the number of online reservation users increased 22% year on year. Growth in usage-based billing revenue drove the overall increase in Restaurant Support Services sales (up 3.4% year on year). Capital expenditure of ¥109 million was concentrated on system development (software assets), continuing strategic investment to improve reservation convenience.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue peaked at ¥1,938 million in FY2021 and has continued to decline since, reaching ¥794 million in the first half of FY2026 (ending March 2026) (down 6.2% year on year). The main causes were a decrease in the number of registered restaurant members (from 7,435 to 6,892) and constrained ARPU growth. On the other hand, reductions in cost of sales and SG&A expenses proved effective, and operating profit remained in the black at ¥20 million (up 9.2% year on year). Net income for the first half was limited to ¥7 million (down 47.2% year on year) due to the recording of an impairment loss of ¥7 million. The full-year forecast calls for revenue of ¥1,603 million, operating profit of ¥47 million, and net income of ¥124 million; the substantial increase in net income is attributable to a gain on sale of investment securities (¥92 million) to be recorded as a subsequent event. While there are tailwinds from the external environment, such as the recovery in dining-out spending and increased inbound demand, headwinds remain in the form of rising raw material costs and labor shortages at restaurants, and a return to net growth in member numbers holds the key to a recovery in earnings.
Growth Strategy
Aiming to sustain and expand profitability through a three-pronged approach of strengthening direct sales, cost discipline, and financial base stabilization
The winding down of specific agencies with high cancellation rates is nearly complete, with the revenue share of such agencies having fallen to approximately 0.5%. Through strengthening the direct sales organizational structure and improving sales productivity, early signs of an increase in new sign-ups via the direct sales channel are beginning to emerge. The company aims to strengthen profitability in FY2026 (ending September 2026).
While maintaining a lean structure with a slight year-on-year decrease in personnel expenses, the company has begun compressing man-hours through AI implementation and fundamental reduction of business processes. Through automation and streamlining of operations, the company is transitioning toward a structure in which profit margin improvement becomes more responsive to revenue growth.
Liquidity on hand was secured through a commitment line agreement (¥300 million) with Resona Bank, execution of a long-term loan (¥80 million, 7 years, unsecured and unguaranteed) from The Higashi-Nippon Bank, and the sale of unlisted securities (transfer consideration of ¥92 million). Flexible and stable fundraising means have been established.
The name was changed from "Advertising Content" to "Integrated Solutions" starting this fiscal year. Integrated Solutions revenue for the interim period of FY2026 (ending September 2026) was ¥162 million. Through the provision of advertising and content to national clients, the company aims to strengthen this business as a revenue pillar alongside Restaurant Support Services.
