(contract software development), and Comforce Corporation (wireless communication system construction and installation). This segment handles manufacturing for all Group products and, in addition to direct sales in the domestic market, also records internal transfer sales to overseas subsidiaries. Recent Overview

Domestic sales of business-use and peripheral equipment increased, but operating profit fell 5.6% year on year due to lower internal sales and higher R&D expenses

In the Japan segment for FY2026 (ending March 2026), external customer sales rose slightly to ¥21,177 million (up 0.2% year on year). In the domestic market, an increase in bidding and system projects for Land Mobile Radio Equipment and peripheral equipment contributed to higher sales, while sales of Amateur Radio Equipment declined due to a savings-oriented consumer mindset. Internal transfer sales to overseas operations decreased to ¥9,148 million (from ¥9,921 million in the prior period), and combined with an increase in selling, general and administrative expenses driven by higher R&D spending, operating profit came in at ¥2,830 million (down 5.6% year on year). The company is working to expand stock-type business through the release of the AI-equipped intercom app ICOM CONNECT.

Key Products

product
Land Mobile Radio Equipment (including IP radios and hybrid radios)

Business-use radio communication equipment for corporations, government agencies, and public institutions. Domestic demand for IP radios and hybrid radios remained firm, and sales in the domestic market increased due to a rise in bidding projects and system projects. Expansion of system sales including peripheral equipment is also being promoted.

product
Amateur Radio Equipment

Amateur radio equipment for individual users. In Japan, demand contracted due to a growing individual savings mindset amid rising prices. On the other hand, efforts to stimulate demand through new product launches have also been implemented, contributing to increased sales in exports to Europe.

product
Marine Radio Equipment

Radio communication equipment for vessels and maritime safety authorities. Overseas sales from the Japan segment increased, driven by the acquisition of coast guard-related projects and the emergence of replacement demand in Asia associated with regulatory changes.

platform
ICOM CONNECT (Multifunctional AI Intercom App for Smartphones)

A multifunctional AI-equipped intercom app for smartphones enabling calls, group broadcast communication, and voice-to-text transcription between apps. Released during the fiscal year under review, it is being rolled out with the aim of expanding stock-type business (such as line usage fee income).

service
Wireless Communication System Construction & Support Services (Comforce Corporation)

Wireless communication system construction, installation, and maintenance services handled by Comforce Corporation. The company is promoting expansion from standalone radio equipment sales to system sales, contributing to a more stable earnings base together with strengthened sales capabilities targeting government agencies.

service
Contract Software Development & Technical Support (Macro Technos Co., Ltd.)

Contract software development and technical support services provided by Macro Technos Co., Ltd. By internalizing development functions that support the competitiveness of Group products, it contributes to improved product quality.

Growth Drivers

  • Continued expansion of replacement demand from conventional radios to IP radios and hybrid radios in domestic Land Mobile Radio Equipment, along with growth in stock-type business (line usage fee income)
  • Realignment of the sales structure for government agencies and public institutions, and expanded acquisition of bidding and system projects (including peripheral equipment)
  • Creation of new stock-type business (subscription-type revenue) through the AI-equipped intercom app ICOM CONNECT
  • Capturing replacement demand for Marine Radio Equipment driven by coast guard project acquisitions and regulatory changes in Asia
  • Differentiation through Made-in-Japan quality and technological strength, with manufacturing of all Group products consolidated at domestic facilities, and delivery of equipment to national government agencies

Risks

  • Risk of a slowdown in overseas internal transfer sales (to Asia and Europe) due to US tariff policy and geopolitical risk (internal transfer sales for the fiscal year decreased 7.8% year on year to ¥9,148 million)
  • Upward pressure on selling, general and administrative expenses from rising personnel costs and R&D expenses (consolidated R&D expenses for the fiscal year were ¥4,256 million, up 6.3% year on year)
  • Continued weak demand for Amateur Radio Equipment due to a savings-oriented mindset in domestic personal consumption amid rising prices
  • Risk of decreased yen-equivalent value of overseas internal transfer sales due to yen appreciation
  • Continued impact on production planning from extended delivery times for certain key components
