Business Details
Centered on Double-Sided and Multilayer Printed Wiring Boards, the segment also handles specialty products such as aluminum-base substrates, copper-pin-inserted substrates (S-MIT), and transparent film substrates (SPET series). Main applications include automotive electronics, electronic applications, and home appliances/communication equipment. In addition to domestic production sites, the company operates sales and production bases in China (Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Shenzhen), Thailand (Bangkok), and India. The equity-method affiliate Ke Hui Shirai Electronic Circuit Co., Ltd. (China) also conducts the same business.
Recent Overview
Despite strong home appliance orders, profit declined sharply due to delayed automotive electronics recovery and rising costs.
For the full year of FY2026 (ending March 2026), segment net sales were ¥28,549 million (down 0.5% year on year), remaining broadly flat. While orders for home appliances trended favorably, recovery in the mainstay automotive electronics field was delayed. Rising raw material and energy costs pressured profitability, and despite ongoing efforts to improve production efficiency and reduce various costs, these were insufficient to fully offset the impact, resulting in a substantial decline in segment profit to ¥2,038 million (down 21.4% year on year).
Key Products
Growth Drivers
- Active expansion into the ASEAN and Indian markets (establishment of sales subsidiaries in Thailand and India)
- Favorable trend in orders for home appliances
- Continued efforts to reduce costs through improved production efficiency and various cost-cutting measures

Risks
- Delayed market recovery in the automotive electronics field (continued sluggish demand in the mainstay application)
- Profit pressure from soaring raw material and energy costs (the main cause of the 21.4% decline in segment profit for FY2026 (ending March 2026))
- Downward pressure on selling prices due to intensifying competition with overseas manufacturers
- Continued rise in crude oil prices and logistics costs amid Middle East geopolitical risk
- Impact of US tariff policy and uncertainty in overseas economies
- Investment loss recognized at the equity-method affiliate (Ke Hui Shirai Electronic Circuit Co., Ltd.) (¥92 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026))
