Business Details

Under the vision of "zero visual inspection at manufacturing sites," the company deploys image inspection systems (hardware and software) domestically and internationally for the label, gravure, and paper container packaging printing markets. Its subsidiary UniARTS supports the inspection business through AI, DX, and cloud technologies. The domestic image inspection business is the core operation, with additional bases in China (SiriusVision (Shanghai) Visual Technology Co., Ltd.) and ASEAN (Thailand and Vietnam). Since August 2025, the company has been implementing its business turnaround plan, the "Sirius Restructuring Plan (SRP)," and by 1Q FY2026 the effects of the cost structure reform had become evident.

Recent Overview

1Q operating profit turned positive due to SRP effects; special gain of ¥298 million recorded from the transfer of subsidiary Web Impact's shares

The effects of the business turnaround plan "SRP," launched in August 2025, became evident, with net sales for 1Q FY2026 (January to March 2026, ending December 2026) reaching ¥568 million (up 35.4% year-on-year) and operating profit turning positive at ¥85 million (compared to a loss of ¥36 million in the same period of the prior year). Sales in the domestic image inspection business increased approximately 78.8% year-on-year. Additionally, on March 31, 2026, the company transferred all shares of its consolidated subsidiary Web Impact Co., Ltd., recording a gain of ¥298 million on the sale of affiliated company shares as an extraordinary gain. As a result, quarterly net profit attributable to owners of the parent reached ¥365 million. The China and ASEAN businesses also saw improved profit and loss due to fixed cost reductions, with the China business turning operating profit positive in 1Q. The material doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern, which existed at the end of the previous consolidated fiscal year, is judged to have been resolved as of the end of 1Q.

Growth Drivers

  • Continued effects of cost structure reform through the SRP (Sirius Restructuring Plan) (reduction of approximately 25% in officers and employees compared to the end of June 2025)
  • Improved profitability through concentrated order-taking and sales activities under a one-team structure encompassing management, planning, development, sales, and support in the domestic image inspection business
  • Response to the recovery trend in capital expenditure in the label print inspection market (increased sales of AsmilVision-equipped systems)
  • Capturing demand for replacement of aging inspection equipment among existing customers and acquisition of high-value-added projects
  • Increasing inquiries from various industries for the new product S-Comet (compact desktop inspection system)
  • Progress in evaluation of the new training-free AI "Regulus" at multiple printing sites and expectations for expanded adoption
  • Expansion of sales of China-made inspection systems to China, Japan, and ASEAN through strengthened partnerships with Chinese machinery manufacturers
  • Achieving maximum results with minimal resources through a three-way one-team structure spanning Japan, China, and ASEAN
  • Securing investment funds for future growth areas through the transfer of Web Impact shares

Risks

  • The full-year net sales forecast of ¥1,870 million is below the prior-year actual result of ¥2,065 million, posing a risk of reduced business scale due to the exclusion of Web Impact and other factors
  • Risk of continued cautious attitude among customers regarding capital expenditure decisions (amid uncertainty from U.S. trade policy, geopolitical risks, etc.)
  • Risk of deteriorating business environment for SiriusVision Shanghai due to prolonged deterioration of the Chinese economy
  • Risk of continued challenging business environment in the ASEAN business (Thailand and Vietnam)
  • Risk of decline in technical and sales capabilities due to reduced personnel (approximately 25% reduction) following the implementation of the SRP
  • Foreign exchange risk (impact of yen appreciation on yen-converted revenue from overseas operations)
  • Risk of medium- to long-term decline in product competitiveness due to the freeze on R&D investment
  • Increased risk of earnings volatility due to concentration of the business portfolio (single image inspection business) following the exclusion of Web Impact
