Business

VIS Inc. upholds the purpose of "Making working people happy," and centers its business on the Branding Business, which provides Office Design, Graphic Design, and Web Design in an integrated manner. It also develops the Data Solution & Place Solution Business, offering the Work Design Platform (a DX tool for workplace construction) and Cocoeru (an organizational improvement survey), as well as place solutions through the operation of The Place (Flexible Office). Its major clients range broadly from high-growth startups to major, long-established companies, and it has a track record of over 8,500 construction projects. Founded in 1998, the company is listed on the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Business Model

Branding Business (¥15,887 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026)) accounts for over 96% of net sales, with design and construction contracting for office relocation and renovation serving as the main revenue source. The Data Solution & Place Solution Business (¥601 million) consists of subscription-type revenue from DX tools and rental income from Flexible Offices. With zero borrowings and cash of ¥6,604 million, the company maintains a debt-free management structure and a stable financial base built primarily on internal funds.

Company Strengths

Leveraging know-how accumulated from over 8,500 office design projects since its founding, the company provides optimal solutions for each client's challenges. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), orders received in the Branding Business reached ¥17,427,990 thousand (111.9% year-on-year), and the order backlog rose sharply to ¥3,756,192 thousand (169.5% year-on-year), demonstrating that the accumulation of track record translates directly into order-winning competitiveness.

As of the end of FY2026 (ending March 2026), the company had zero interest-bearing debt and held cash and cash equivalents of ¥6,604 million. Against net assets of ¥7,934 million, the equity ratio remains at a high level. While covering short-term working capital needs with its own funds, the company maintains capacity for new business investment, resulting in extremely low financial risk.

The company provides Branding (Office Design, Graphic Design, Web Design), Data Solution (DX tools, surveys), and Place Solution (Flexible Office operation) services within a single group. This one-stop system, which resolves clients' "Work Design" challenges through a single company, serves as a differentiating factor that is difficult for competitors to replicate in a short period.

ENVALITH's Perspective

In FY2026 (ending March 2026), the company maintained revenue and profit growth, with revenue up 1.5% and operating profit up 1.4%, but growth decelerated significantly compared with the previous fiscal year (revenue up 12.9%, operating profit up 25.7%). The revenue concentration structure remains unchanged, with the Branding Business accounting for 96.4% of revenue and 97.1% of segment profit, meaning order trends in that business continue to drive overall performance. As an external factor, the continuation of the return-to-office trend serves as a tailwind, but there is a risk that corporate investment restraint stemming from US tariff policy and geopolitical risk could become a headwind.

The Data Solution & Place Solution Business deteriorated significantly in FY2026 (ending March 2026), with revenue of ¥601 million (down 7.0% year on year) and segment profit of ¥64 million (down 49.0% year on year). This appears to reflect upfront investment burdening profit, including for "The Place Shimbashi" (opened October 2025) and other facilities. Although this segment is positioned as a strategic growth area under the medium-term management plan VISION2027, its current scale and profitability remain limited, and the outlook for investment recovery and a return to a profitable trajectory continue to warrant attention.

The FY2027 (ending March 2028) consolidated earnings forecast projects revenue of ¥18,397 million (up 11.6%) and operating profit of ¥1,951 million (up 0.5%), representing continued revenue growth, but net profit attributable to owners of the parent is expected to decline 9.5% to ¥1,239 million. Meanwhile, the annual dividend per share is planned to increase from ¥49 to ¥59 (payout ratio of 40.2%). While the dividend increase amid declining net profit signals a commitment to shareholder returns, the sharp rise in the payout ratio warrants close attention from a sustainability standpoint. The fact that the cumulative net profit forecast for the first half (second quarter cumulative) calls for a substantial 29.8% year-on-year decline also makes confirmation of first-half progress important.

Growth Strategy

Under VISION2027, the company aims to achieve net sales of ¥20,056 million through continued growth in the Branding Business and strategic expansion of the Data Solution & Place Solution Business

The company continues sales activities focused mainly on high-growth companies and companies proactively reviewing their work styles, strengthening new customer acquisition and follow-up with existing customers through diverse marketing methods. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), the segment achieved net sales of ¥15,887 million (up 1.8% year on year) and segment profit of ¥2,001 million (up 5.0% year on year). For FY2027 (ending March 2027), companywide net sales of ¥18,397 million are forecast.

The company is expanding operations of the flexible office "The Place" in the Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka areas, newly opening "The Place Shimbashi" in Minato-ku, Tokyo in October 2025. While aiming to build up stock-type revenue in the Place Solution Business, segment profit for the Data Solution & Place Solution Business was limited to ¥64 million, down 49.0% year on year, due to upfront investment.

The company aims to capture demand for data-driven workplace construction by expanding the provision of the "Work Design Platform," a workplace construction DX tool developed by its subsidiary Work Design Technologies, and "Cocoeru," an organizational improvement survey tool. Currently, the scale remains limited, with net sales of ¥601 million for the Data Solution & Place Solution Business as a whole.

Based on VISION2027 formulated in June 2025, the company is promoting the expansion of its business domain from Office Design to Work Design (design of working environments and work styles). FY2026 (ending March 2026), the first year of VISION2027, saw the execution of various priority measures. As its ultimate goal, the company aims to achieve net sales of ¥20,056 million in FY2028 (ending March 2028).
