Business

ONE CAREER, Inc. operates under the mission of "Creating a career for every individual," offering the job-hunting support/new graduate recruitment service "ONE CAREER" and the career-change support/mid-career recruitment service "ONE CAREER Tenshoku." The company has built a platform that accumulates and publishes career data centered on job seekers' job-hunting experience information and behavioral history, providing job seekers with information necessary for decision-making free of charge, while offering companies paid recruitment DX support services such as job postings, scouting, and Recruitment Solutions. As of the end of December 2025, the number of registered members for the new graduate service exceeded 2.32 million, and the cumulative number of corporate clients reached 6,290, with the company continuing to grow amid the structural labor shortage driven by the declining birthrate, aging population, and shrinking workforce.

Business Model

By offering career data free of charge to job seekers, the company expands its member base, and by providing companies seeking those members with paid services such as job postings, scouting, online company information sessions, and Recruitment Solutions, it generates revenue. With a cost-of-sales ratio of 15.0% and an operating margin of 28.1% (FY2025, ending December 2025), the company has a highly profitable business structure, and it is expanding sales through the twin engines of acquiring new clients and increasing transaction value per existing client.

Company Strengths

In FY2025 (ending December 2025), the company achieved operating income of ¥2,128 million against net sales of ¥7,577 million, representing an operating margin of 28.1%. While maintaining a low-cost structure with a cost-of-sales ratio of 15.0%, the company has achieved a high profit margin through disciplined investment and ongoing cost reviews.

The cumulative number of corporate clients increased approximately 46% from 4,294 companies at the end of 2024 to 6,290 companies at the end of 2025. This has continued to expand quarter by quarter, with new client acquisition as well as continued transactions and unit price increases among existing clients supporting revenue growth.

As of the end of FY2025 (ending December 2025), the number of new graduate service members surpassed 2.32 million. The company's proprietary career database, which accumulates job-seekers' job-hunting experience information after screening every submission, forms an entry barrier that is difficult for competitors to easily replicate.

ENVALITH's Perspective

The full-year forecast for FY2026 (ending December 2026) (revenue of ¥10,500 million, operating profit of ¥3,000 million, net income of ¥2,123 million) remains unrevised from the figures announced on February 12, 2026. First-quarter results (revenue of ¥2,206 million, operating profit of ¥663 million) represent progress rates of 21.0% and 22.1% against the full-year forecast, respectively. While the first quarter tends to show relatively lower progress due to the seasonality of recruitment activity, the significant buildup in contract liabilities (¥2,430 million) suggests that revenue will be recognized from the second quarter onward, and the probability of achieving the full-year targets is judged to be high.

The subsidiarization of Zero One Brain Co., Ltd. and Kids Corporation, announced on March 26, 2026, is scheduled to be reflected in consolidated results from the third quarter of FY2026 (ending December 2026). The impact on the full-year earnings forecast is currently under review, and there is a risk of downward revision to the profit forecast depending on the scale of goodwill recognition and increased expenses associated with consolidation. On the other hand, the robust demand for human resources indicated by the external environment—the effective job openings-to-applicants ratio (1.18x in March 2026)—is a tailwind, and there remains room for upside in revenue.

Revenue expanded approximately 3.9-fold over five periods, from ¥1,952 million in the fiscal year ended December 2021 to ¥7,577 million in the fiscal year ended December 2025, and the full-year forecast of ¥10,500 million for FY2026 (ending December 2026) (up 38.6% year on year) indicates the continuation of a high-growth trajectory. On the other hand, the equity ratio as of the end of March 2026 declined to 60.7% from 69.1% as of the end of December 2025, mainly due to a sharp increase in contract liabilities (total liabilities of ¥3,577 million). In addition, the seasonal fluctuation structure, in which the majority of the business depends on the new graduate recruitment season, remains a risk factor, and progress in diversification into mid-career recruitment and new business areas will be a key point for medium- to long-term evaluation.

Growth Strategy

Aiming for revenue of ¥35,000 million by 2030 through deepening of recruitment DX, M&A in new business areas, and expansion of the member and corporate customer base

Increasing touchpoints with new business partners through proactive marketing activities targeting corporations, leading to sales of job posting services and scout services. The cumulative number of corporate transaction accounts increased by 568 companies in a single quarter, from 6,290 companies at the end of 2025 to 6,858 companies at the end of March 2026, and the pace of expansion continues.

Focusing on expanding membership and the number of corporate customers by strengthening services that match the needs of students and companies in specific categories. Membership reached 2,425 thousand as of the end of March 2026, and the platform continues to expand in scale as a two-sided market.

Following the announcement on March 26, 2026 of the acquisition of shares in both companies, they are scheduled to become consolidated subsidiaries from the third quarter of FY2026 (ending December 2026). The aim is to enhance the value of the Career Data Platform through expansion into mid-career recruitment and new business areas. The impact on the full-year earnings forecast is currently under review.

Enhancing the functionality of the scout service through the use of generative AI to improve convenience for both students and companies, and to differentiate the service and increase transaction unit prices. As corporate demand for recruitment DX remains solid, maintaining and improving product competitiveness has become an important initiative.

Promoting revenue diversification away from dependence on new graduate recruitment by creating synergies in the mid-career recruitment business through making Light Rose Co., Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary. This is also expected to contribute to reducing the seasonal fluctuation risk associated with a heavy reliance on new graduate recruitment.
