Business

Quick Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive human resources and information services company founded in 1980. Centered on the Human Resources Services Business (approximately 69% of net sales), which focuses on recruitment placement and staffing, the company operates five segments in total: the Recruiting Business (job advertising agency), the Regional Information Services Business (closely tied to the Hokuriku and Niigata regions), the HR Platform Business (which operates the HR portal "Nihon no Jinjibu"), and the Overseas Business (spanning seven countries across the US, Europe, and Asia). The company focuses on specific fields such as nursing, healthcare, construction, IT, and manufacturing engineering, providing matching services between job seekers and hiring companies. Listed on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Business Model

The core Recruitment Placement business operates on a model in which a success fee (placement commission) is received from client companies upon successful hiring. Staffing revenue comes from placement fee income based on the working hours of dispatched staff. In the Recruiting Business, the primary revenue source is advertising agency commissions from aggregation-type job media such as Indeed. The HR Platform Business generates revenue through advertising placement fees on the "Nihon no Jinjibu" site and the sale of speaking slots at events such as the HR Conference (Spring/Autumn). The Regional Information Services Business is underpinned by advertising placement fees for lifestyle information magazines and distribution fees from the Posting (Flyer Distribution) Service.

Company Strengths

The company continues to expand registrant acquisition for nurse placement and staffing through strengthened promotion under the "Kango Roo!" brand, utilizing TV commercials, web commercials, and SNS. Amid persistently high demand for nurse staffing driven by the shortage of medical workers due to the declining birthrate and aging population, the company has built a solid revenue base by strengthening sales activities toward nursing care facilities and hospitals and focusing on contract renewals.

The company renews its sales agency agreement with Indeed Japan annually (the most recent term running from April 2026 to March 2027), positioning aggregation-type job advertising services as a core product. Both the Recruiting Business and the Regional Information Services Business have achieved new customer acquisition centered on Indeed and a high existing-customer retention rate, serving as a source of competitive advantage in job advertising agency operations.

As of the end of FY2026 (ending March 2026), the balance of interest-bearing debt (borrowings) stood at ¥80 million, effectively debt-free. The equity ratio improved to 74.7% (up from 71.0% in the previous fiscal year), and cash and cash equivalents totaled ¥13,138 million. ROE also improved by 1.5 percentage points year on year to 22.4%, reflecting enhanced capital efficiency alongside both investment capacity and financial stability.

ENVALITH's Perspective

Profit attributable to owners of parent for FY2026 (ending March 2026) rose sharply to ¥4,158 million (+16.1% YoY), but this includes ¥1,164 million in gains on sale of investment securities recorded as extraordinary income (versus ¥718 million in the prior period), meaning the growth rate on an ordinary income basis was a mere +1.7%. The company's forecast for FY2027 (ending March 2027) projects a sharp decline in net income to ¥2,805 million (-32.5% YoY), and investors need to carefully assess the underlying earnings power once these gains on sale roll off.

In FY2026 (ending March 2026), selling, general and administrative expenses expanded to ¥18,004 million (+6.8% YoY), outpacing the growth rate of net sales (+4.4%), causing operating margin to decline to 13.5% (versus 13.9% in the prior period). The company's forecast for FY2027 (ending March 2027) projects a decline in operating profit to ¥4,110 million (-10.3% YoY). This reflects a structure in which upfront costs from human capital investment such as recruitment and training, as well as IT investment ("AndPro" branding and software development), are constraining near-term margins, making the timeline for investment payback a key factor in stock valuation.

Total dividends for FY2026 (ending March 2026) amounted to ¥2,129 million (payout ratio of 50.8%). The company also announced a new policy for the three years through FY2029 (ending March 2029), under which it will adopt whichever is higher between a minimum annual dividend of ¥38 and the dividend amount based on a 70% payout ratio. In addition, the company resolved to conduct a share buyback of up to 1,500,000 shares with an upper limit of ¥1,000 million. While the stance toward shareholder returns has clearly been strengthened, applying a 70% payout ratio to the forecast net income of ¥2,805 million for FY2027 (ending March 2027) would result in total dividends of approximately ¥1,964 million. Compared against free cash flow (operating cash flow of ¥2,727 million minus investing cash flow of ¥2,708 million, equaling ¥19 million), attention should be paid to the pace at which financial capacity is being consumed.
