Business
Neural Group Inc. operates under the mission of "Creating an exciting future with AI," running its AI Engineering Business (Single Segment) built around its proprietary deep learning library and edge computing technology. The business consists of two domains: the Innovation domain (research and development of cutting-edge technologies such as AI Agents and LLMs) and the Core Service domain (provision of services and products based on mature AI technologies). The company offers a diverse range of AI services, including parking lot occupancy management (Dejipark), pedestrian flow and security analysis (Digiflow), LED signage (Neural Vision), a 1-on-1 support tool (KizunaNavi), and fashion trend analysis, with a track record of adoption by over 12,000 companies nationwide, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations. The company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market.
Business Model
Company Strengths
Holds over 30 proprietary deep learning models developed in-house without repurposing general-purpose open source. Achieves commercial-level accuracy, including 98.1% fashion item detection accuracy and license plate recognition. Has accumulated proprietary technology assets including Patent No. 6511204, forming a technical entry barrier that competitors cannot easily replicate.
Completes AI analysis on-device without transmitting images or video to a server, achieving both significant reductions in communication and server costs and protection of personal information. Possesses cross-platform installation capability independent of specific devices or processors, and offers high scalability, operable even in environments at the level of mobile communications.
Has a track record of over 12,000 companies adopting services in its core service domain. In May 2023, entered into a capital and business alliance with Sony Corporation, jointly developing KizunaNavi, which combines Sony's voice recognition technology with the company's own edge AI technology, released in March 2024. In June 2024, the company was also certified as a participant in the NVIDIA Partner Program.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue expanded from ¥1,010 million in FY2021 to ¥3,565 million in FY2024, but FY2025 saw the first year-on-year decline, to ¥3,299 million. In Q1 FY2026, revenue fell further to ¥676 million (down 18.0% year on year). Operating loss, which stood at ¥7 million for full-year FY2025, expanded sharply to ¥239 million in Q1 FY2026 alone, while adjusted EBITDA also deteriorated to ¥152 million negative (versus ¥26 million positive in the same period a year earlier). On the external front, sluggish consumer sentiment amid domestic price increases and a deteriorating fundraising environment stemming from the Bank of Japan's policy rate hikes have weighed on the business environment, while the tailwind of global growth in the AI market continues. Revenue in the Innovation segment declined from ¥147 million to ¥86 million year on year, and revenue in the Core Services segment also declined, from ¥674 million to ¥589 million.
Growth Strategy
Pursuing discontinuous growth through a three-pronged approach: accelerated M&A, integration of generative AI technology, and diversification of core services
Building an information-gathering network for M&A candidate companies and executing continuous acquisitions. In Q1 FY2026, made Pomato, Pro, and Cactus subsidiaries; resolved to make Mahou and Pegasus subsidiaries in June 2026 as a subsequent event. Expanding business domains into entertainment, events, and gaming machine LCD panels to diversify the revenue base.
Promoting horizontal deployment of operational and cost optimization know-how to new group companies and mutual customer referrals to strengthen company-wide cost competitiveness. Aims to improve profitability and stabilize the earnings structure by applying the company's proprietary AI technology to the businesses of M&A target companies.
Incorporating research results on advanced technologies such as AI Agents and LLMs from the Innovation domain into the core service domain as appropriate, to enhance the added value of existing products. Strengthening service competitiveness through the integration of NEURAL.LLM and ASR technology into KizunaNavi, among other initiatives.
With the group participation of Cactus (events and promotion) and Mahou (gaming machine LCD panels) as a catalyst, uniquely evolving AI technology specialized for the entertainment domain, and accelerating solution sales for the marketing, entertainment, and event markets.
