Business

Ecomott Inc. was founded in 2007 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, and is a company specializing in IoT integration under the mission of "creating the common sense of the future." Based on its proprietary IoT platform "FASTIO," it develops in-house solutions including the remote snow-melting device monitoring service "Yurimotto," the construction site DX service "Genba Roid," and the car telematics service "Pdrive." Through capital and business alliances with major companies such as KDDI Corporation and Sekisui Jushi Corporation, the company promotes its business along two axes: industrial DX (IoT Business Innovation) and construction DX (Construction Solutions). Net sales for FY2025 (ending August 2025) were ¥3,004 million. Note that Power Denki Innovation Co., Ltd., which was responsible for the GX business (IoT Powered), had all of its shares transferred in August 2025 and has since been excluded from consolidation.

Business Model

Centered on the proprietary platform "FASTIO," the company combines flow revenue from system integration (contract development and implementation) with stock revenue from subscription-based monitoring services such as "Yurimotto" and "Genba Roid." Through alliances with telecom carriers such as KDDI, the company stably secures large-scale orders, while its subsidiary GRIFFY handles the construction DX domain. The cost of sales ratio is approximately 64% (FY2025, ending August 2025), with a high proportion of fixed costs, meaning that expanding sales is key to improving profit margins.

Company Strengths

In January 2019, the company concluded a capital and business alliance with KDDI CORPORATION, with 'FASTIO' adopted as the base system for 'KDDI IoT Cloud Standard'. In March 2023, it also formed a capital and business alliance with Sekisui Jushi Corporation to promote joint development of IoT-enabled LED signboards. Collaboration with major companies has supported stable receipt of large-scale orders, and orders received for IoT Business Innovation in FY2025 (ending August 2025) reached ¥1,165,474 thousand, up 139.0% year on year.

Since launching its remote snow-melting equipment control service in 2007, the company has obtained multiple patents in 2008, 2013, and 2023. In April 2023, it obtained a patent (No. 7246056) related to AI-based control of snow-melting equipment, putting into practical use an AI control decision-making system that combines sensor, camera, and weather forecast data. Its operational track record of over 17 years combined with patented technology forms a barrier to entry, and 'Yurimotto' has become widely adopted among condominium management associations, rental property owners, and large-scale retailers, among others.

GRIFFY Inc., established in December 2023 through a corporate split (incorporation-type company split), primarily offers the construction site DX service 'Genba Roid'. In FY2025 (ending August 2025), Construction Solutions segment sales were ¥1,037,789 thousand (up 7.5% year on year), and orders received were ¥1,030,065 thousand (108.3% of the previous period). Against a backdrop of mandatory heat stroke prevention measures and growing demand for construction DX, the company has also accumulated a track record of joint product development with major general contractors, including GenVital, jointly developed with Obayashi Corporation.

ENVALITH's Perspective

Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters of FY2026 (ending August 2026) was ¥1,586 million (down 21.9% year-on-year), with an operating loss of ¥119 million, a significant deterioration. The full-year forecast of revenue of ¥2,428 million and operating profit of ¥56 million remains unchanged, but the progress rate as of the cumulative 3Q stage is only 65.3%. This implies that Q4 (March–August 2026) must generate ¥842 million in revenue and an operating profit improvement of over ¥175 million. Even taking into account seasonal peak periods (IoT Business Innovation concentrated in March, Construction peaking September–December), the level of difficulty in achieving this is high.

The sale of Power Denki Innovation Co., Ltd. (IoT Powered) on August 29, 2025 in the previous fiscal year resulted in the loss of a GX-related revenue source, which directly contributed to the significant decline in revenue. In addition, Fujiyama Suisan Kako, which became a subsidiary in March 2026, recorded cumulative 3Q revenue of ¥28 million against a segment loss of ¥25 million, a substantial loss margin. While its strategic significance as a physical AI demonstration site is recognized, it has become a burden on short-term performance.

As the acquisition cost of Fujiyama Suisan Kako (¥2 million) was below net assets, a gain on negative goodwill of ¥87 million was recorded as extraordinary income, limiting the quarterly net loss attributable to owners of the parent to ¥29 million. However, the core business posted an operating loss of ¥119 million, a significant deterioration from the operating profit of ¥11 million in the same period of the previous year, indicating a profit structure reliant on a one-time extraordinary gain. Amid interest-bearing debt (short-term borrowings of ¥570 million, long-term borrowings of ¥268 million, etc.), improving operating cash flow is an urgent priority.

Growth Strategy

Expanding recurring revenue and new business domains along three axes: physical AI demonstration, vertical integration of construction DX, and deepening of IoT collaboration

The seafood processing site of Fujiyama Suisan Kako, which was made a subsidiary in March 2026, is positioned as a core development base for physical AI, with phased implementation of automated sorting and optimal environmental control using sensors, image analysis, and robotics. The company aims to leverage the edge AI platform developed through PROLICA to expand the technology into seafood, food, primary industries, and logistics.

On July 1, 2026, GRIFFY completed the transfer of the entire business of Life Business Weather, a weather information service company, for ¥32 million. By combining high-precision weather forecasting (1km mesh) with IoT and AI, the company will build a vertically integrated DX model that links biometric data with weather forecasts to enable preventive safety management and automated decisions to suspend construction work.

In October 2025, an 11.1% stake in GRIFFY was sold to Toda Corporation and Muramoto Corporation, establishing capital and business alliances. The company aims to expand its market share in construction solutions through joint product development with the two general contractors. Leveraging the tailwind from the mandatory heatstroke prevention measures with penalties (effective June 2025), the company is promoting expanded adoption of products such as

The company continues to improve KDDI IoT Cloud Standard functionality, secure large-scale orders, pursue synergies with Sekisui Jushi, and collaborate with Premier Bright Connect on mobility services. Orders for mobility services have not grown as expected, with cumulative sales through Q3 down 1.0% year on year, making recovery in orders a key challenge.
