Business
COLLABOS Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in cloud services for call centers, founded in 2001. It provides a one-stop suite of services necessary for call center operations, including IP phone exchange systems (PBX/CTI), customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and AI marketing systems. Its main customers span a wide range of industries centered on telemarketing operators and BPO operators, including manufacturers, retailers, and financial institutions, and it serves call centers ranging from small-scale operations with around 5 seats to large-scale operations with over 300 seats. In April 2026, the company changed its market segment listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange from the Growth Market to the Standard Market.
Business Model
Clients share the system jointly via the internet without requiring large-scale capital investment, paying a monthly fee. Since the monthly usage fee varies according to the number of seats/IDs used and the addition of optional features, expansion of a client's business directly translates into increased revenue. By adopting a monthly billing model in addition to initial fees, the company secures stable recurring revenue while also aiming to increase revenue per customer through cross-selling and upselling.
Company Strengths
Since launching @nyplace in 2002, the company has continuously provided cloud services for call centers for over 20 years, accumulating extensive knowledge through closely tailored services including schedule coordination and statistical report analysis support for telecommunications carriers to improve their operations. The company has obtained Privacy Mark certification (2007), ISMS certification (2009), and Excellent Telephone Business Operator certification (2025), ensuring reliability.
The in-house developed AI call center system VLOOM incorporates integration with the generative AI Gemini to improve the accuracy of automatic call summarization, features scenario-based voice bot functionality, and adopts a fully redundant AWS configuration. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), it achieved rapid growth with sales of ¥116 million (up 101.7% year on year) and an average number of channels used during the period of 879 channels (up 373 channels year on year), with functional differentiation from competitors contributing to customer acquisition.
In FY2026 (ending March 2026), cost of sales was significantly reduced to ¥1,018 million (down 17.1% year on year). In addition to reductions in communication costs, hosting fees, and maintenance costs, the company promoted the consolidation of data center racks and lines and optimization of the system configuration of proprietary services. Even as sales decreased by 10.9% year on year, the company maintained operating profit of ¥74 million (down 1.6% year on year), demonstrating improved profit resilience through cost structure improvements.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue contracted 28% over five periods, from ¥2,369 million in FY2022 (ended March 2022) to ¥1,699 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026). FY2026 saw a continued decline of 10.9% year on year, but a substantial reduction in cost of sales (down 17.1% year on year) kept gross profit roughly in line with the prior period, and operating profit came to ¥74 million (down 1.6% year on year), maintaining operating profitability for a second consecutive period. Ordinary profit fell 48.9% year on year to ¥52 million due to the recording of a provision for shareholder benefit program (¥20 million). Net income for the period came to ¥101 million, supported by gain on reversal of stock acquisition rights (¥26 million) and income tax adjustment (gain) (¥30 million), but a substantial decline to ¥50 million is forecast for FY2027 (ending March 2027). In the external environment, business downsizing and cost-reduction pressure in the BPO and telemarketing industries are causing demand for existing services to decline, and the pace of the shift toward proprietary services benefiting from the tailwind of expanding AI demand holds the key to a recovery in performance.
Growth Strategy
Shift toward an earnings base centered on proprietary services led by VLOOM, combined with cost optimization of existing services
Improved automatic call summarization accuracy through integration with the generative AI "Gemini" and added scenario-based voice bot functionality have already been implemented. In FY2027 (ending March 2026), the company will promote feature development reflecting DX needs such as AI utilization and automation, and pursue one-stop functionality through integration with its own services, aiming to establish an earnings base centered on proprietary services.
Lead generation was strengthened through a free initial-cost campaign, industry-specific sales activities, exhibiting at AI-related events, and SEO measures. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), proprietary services as a whole grew 37.3% year on year; UZ acquired new projects with telecommunications and BPO operators, and GOLDEN LIST secured performance-based fee projects with insurance and BPO clients.
The company is promoting retention activities for key customers through migration to a new PBX (private branch exchange) and the launch of a statistics management tool. It is expanding revenue opportunities through call charge reduction proposals and cross-selling/up-selling of peripheral services; however, in FY2026 (ending March 2026), the average number of seats in use during the period decreased by 1,073 seats year on year, and structural contraction has continued, limiting the results achieved.
The company implemented reductions in maintenance and hosting costs through data center rack and line consolidation, reduced communication costs in line with sales, and cut outsourcing costs by promoting business automation and insourcing. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), cost of sales was reduced by 17.1% year on year, successfully maintaining operating profitability even amid declining net sales.
