Recent Overview
Sales revenue rose 9.1% on elevated fish prices, with segment profit improving substantially by 194.9% year on year
In the Fresh Fish Sales Business for FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales revenue rose to ¥31,466 million (up 9.1% year on year) as fish prices continued to trend at elevated levels. Segment profit improved substantially to ¥220 million (up 194.9% year on year). Meanwhile, the eel farming business continued to post an operating loss due to weak domestic demand, an oversupply sentiment for domestic eel, and declining selling prices caused by inexpensive live eel imports from China and other countries. In addition, investment gains/losses at equity-method affiliate Mogami Sengyo Co., Ltd. swung from a profit of ¥37 million in the prior period to a loss of ¥50 million, acting as a drag at the ordinary income level.

- Risk of investment losses due to deteriorating performance at equity-method affiliate Mogami Sengyo Co., Ltd.
