Business
Sanei Corporation Co., Ltd. is a specialty trading company for daily necessities founded in 1946, forming a group consisting of the Company and 17 subsidiaries. Its core business centers on three reportable segments—Furniture & Household Goods, Apparel & Accessories, and Home Appliances—while also handling complementary businesses such as pet-related products, disaster prevention goods, and transport materials. The company maintains global bases in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Germany, Taiwan, and elsewhere, operating both an OEM Business (contract manufacturing and procurement) and a Brand Business (planning and sales of proprietary and licensed brands) in parallel. Its major customer is the Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. group, which accounted for 51.3% of net sales in FY2026 (ending March 2026). The company is listed on the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Business Model
The company's supplier base spans a global supply chain including China, Malaysia, and Vietnam, securing stable orders in the OEM Business on the strength of low-cost procurement capability. Meanwhile, it pursues added value through the Brand Business, selling proprietary and licensed brands such as "mod's hair", "Vitantonio", and "MINT" via EC, directly-operated stores, and wholesale channels. In recent years, it has also added the Fulfillment Business (providing EC infrastructure services externally) and new businesses acquired through M&A as additional revenue sources.
Company Strengths
In FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales to the Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. Group amounted to ¥18,643 million, accounting for 51.3% of consolidated net sales. Although this represents a decrease from the previous fiscal year (¥22,608 million, 56.7%), the long-standing track record of continued transactions has formed a customer base that competitors would find difficult to replace in the short term.
The company holds consolidated subsidiaries and bases in China (Shanghai, Shenzhen, Dongguan), Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Germany, with manufacturing, procurement, sales, and liaison functions distributed across these locations. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales of kitchen tools for European brands expanded sharply, growing approximately 5.2 times year on year, confirming the effectiveness of the global sales network.
During the previous medium-term plan "SANYEI 2025," the company carried out restructuring of unprofitable businesses, including the dissolution of Venexy Co., Ltd. and the liquidation of Sanpatsu Denki Products (Dongguan) Co., Ltd. The equity ratio has risen continuously, from 48.1% in FY2022 (ended March 2022) to 59.6% in FY2026 (ending March 2026), with net assets reaching ¥147,410 million (net assets per share of ¥1,545.11).
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
For FY2026 (ending March 2026), net sales were ¥36,332 million (down 8.9% year on year), operating profit was ¥1,026 million (down 51.0% year on year), and profit attributable to owners of parent was ¥568 million (down 41.7% year on year), representing a significant profit decline. The main cause was a sharp deceleration in the Apparel & Accessories Business, with sales down 26.7%, driven by the external factor of a rebound decline in travel and outing demand following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Furniture & Household Goods Business secured a 3.4% increase in sales on strong European OEM performance, but this was insufficient to offset the decline. The gross profit margin fell from 26.8% in the previous period to 23.9%. Although a gain on sale of investment securities of ¥1,021 million was recorded as extraordinary income, a loss on liquidation of affiliated companies of ¥801 million also occurred. The forecast for FY2027 (ending March 2027) calls for net sales of ¥36,500 million and operating profit of ¥1,000 million, essentially flat, with the recovery in net profit (¥700 million) resulting from the completion of the affiliated company liquidation being the only factor driving profit growth.
Growth Strategy
Advancing three pillars under 'SANYEI NEXT 2028': overseas expansion, EC (e-commerce) enhancement, and business portfolio optimization
Focus on increasing the overseas sales ratio through OEM orders for kitchen tools and other products for European brands. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), sales to Europe expanded sharply, growing approximately 5.2 times year on year to ¥3,326 million, raising the overseas sales ratio to 29.2%. Continued strengthening is planned under the next medium-term plan.
Establishing a dedicated EC organization to promote cross-group deployment and external provision of EC infrastructure services (Fulfillment Business). Aiming to expand the EC business and create group synergies through the acquisition of a new consolidated subsidiary via M&A in the disaster-prevention-related field.
Advancing the business transfer of Venexy Co., Ltd. (completion of the transfer of the Orthofeet brand business on April 30, 2026) and its subsequent liquidation, as well as the dissolution and liquidation of the Sanhap Electric China plant by the end of 2026. Aiming to reduce fixed cost burden and improve the earnings base.
Continuing to improve the loss margin through strengthening the EC channel for the "mod's hair" and "Vitantonio" brands and reducing selling, general and administrative expenses. The segment loss for FY2026 (ending March 2026) was ¥261 million, an improvement of ¥199 million year on year. Fixed cost reduction effects are expected following the liquidation of the Sanhap Electric China plant.
Aiming to diversify earnings in the Apparel & Accessories Business through handling environment-related products centered on "OUR EARTH PROJECT," strengthening EC sales of the original brand "uF," and sub-license development of new overseas brands such as "Cath Kidston."
