Business Details
The Company's core segment develops, manufactures, and sells minimally invasive treatment products (treatment guidewires and catheters) used in endovascular therapy. Domestic sales are primarily direct, while overseas sales are mainly through distributors, with direct sales operations in the US, France, Germany, and Italy. The segment's mainstay is the cardiovascular field (PCI Guidewire, Penetration Catheter, etc.), and it is expanding product offerings into non-cardiovascular fields such as peripheral, cerebral, and abdominal vascular systems. Products are supplied to 121 countries and regions worldwide, and the segment accounts for approximately 87% of consolidated net sales, making it the Company's flagship segment.
Recent Overview
Sales increased across all domestic and overseas regions, with segment profit margin improving to over 38%.

Key Products
Growth Drivers

- Expansion of case volumes in the Chinese market and high growth in cerebral and abdominal vascular products (China sales of ¥28,092 million for the period, up 21.6% year on year)
- Strengthening of direct sales in the non-cardiovascular field (peripheral, cerebral, abdominal vascular) in the US market
- Phased transition to direct sales in Europe (France, Germany, Italy) to improve profitability

- Risk from regulatory and policy changes such as bidding systems in the Chinese market
- Risk of declining gross profit margin due to the impact of US tariffs
- Impairment risk on fixed assets (an impairment loss of ¥9,300 million was recorded in the same period of the prior year)
- Valuation risk for goodwill and intangible assets (changes in the business value of acquired companies)
- Operational risk and BCP response at overseas manufacturing sites (Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines)
