Business Details
This segment includes equipment maintenance, spare parts (replacement parts) sales, and contract development for ODM customers, among others. The former categories of "Maintenance-related" and "Contract Manufacturing and Contract Inspection" were consolidated into "Services and Others" starting from the first quarter of FY2026 (ending June 2026). While the increase in cumulative equipment shipment volume forms the foundation for medium- to long-term spare parts demand, the cumulative nine-month period saw a decline in contract development revenue, causing the sales composition ratio to fall sharply from 25.0% in the same period of the prior year to 15.4%.
Recent Overview
Due to the decline in contract development revenue, cumulative nine-month sales came to ¥583 million, down 32.6% year on year
Services and Others sales for the cumulative nine-month period of FY2026 (ending June 2026) (July 2025 to March 2026) were ¥583 million, down 32.6% year on year. The decline in contract development revenue was attributable to the transition period to new products at ODM customers. In addition, the removal of NPS Corporation from the scope of consolidation as of September 30, 2025, and its reclassification as an equity-method affiliate, also contributed to the contraction of contract manufacturing and contract inspection functions. The sales composition ratio fell from 25.0% in the same period of the prior year to 15.4%, indicating a relative contraction in the scale of this segment's business.
Key Products
Growth Drivers
- Long-term accumulation of spare parts demand driven by the increase in cumulative equipment shipment volume
- Expansion of maintenance-related demand linked to increased sales of clinical diagnostic equipment to a major European ODM customer
- Recovery of contract development projects following the completion of ODM customers' transition to new products
Risks
- Risk of temporary decline in contract development revenue during ODM customers' new product transition periods
- Contraction of contract manufacturing and contract inspection functions due to NPS Corporation becoming an equity-method affiliate
- Demand fluctuation risk due to sales concentration with major ODM customers
- Cost pressure risk from rising raw material, logistics, and labor costs
- Contraction of business scale and reduced fixed cost absorption capacity due to the decline in sales composition ratio (from 25.0% in the same period of the prior year to 15.4% in the current period)
