Business
Frontier International Inc. is an integrated promotion company with "problem-solving capability through experience value (Experience Solution)" as its core competence, providing six functions in an integrated manner: Event Promotion, Digital Promotion, Campaign Promotion, PR, Space Produce, and In-Store Sales Support. Founded in 1990, the company is listed on the TSE Growth Market. The group is composed of the company along with 8 subsidiaries and 2 affiliated companies, and creates brand experiences and customer experiences leveraging direct touchpoints with consumers for clients across a wide range of industries, including games, information and communications, food, and retail, through both agency-mediated orders via major advertising agencies and direct orders. The company operates under a single segment, the Promotion Business.
Business Model
The company does not maintain a dedicated planning/production organization; instead, each sales organization handles everything from planning to operation under a one-stop system. While orders from major advertising agencies (such as Dentsu) remain the core business, direct orders from manufacturers, service companies, and others are also expanding. Net sales and gross profit are treated as key management indicators, and the company aims to improve per-project unit prices and profitability through diversification of solutions via M&A and investment in human capital. The gross profit margin for FY2025 (ending April 2025) was 19.1%.
Company Strengths
Built a one-stop system that completes all six functions—Event Promotion, Digital Promotion, Campaign Promotion, PR, Space Produce, and In-Store Sales Support Business—within a single group. Each sales organization handles everything from planning to execution, enabling rapid and comprehensive solutions for clients' integrated marketing needs, which serves as a differentiating factor versus competitors.
Over the past year, the company made Gaia Communications Inc., Cinebridge Inc., and Max Produce Inc. consolidated subsidiaries through M&A. Since establishing its CVC, it has also executed investments in 4 companies. Net sales for FY2025 (ending April 2025) increased 20.0% year on year to ¥20,335 million, with newly consolidated subsidiaries contributing to the revenue growth.
As of the end of FY2025 (ending April 2025), the equity ratio stood at 61.4%, with cash and cash equivalents of ¥6,113 million. Cash flow from operating activities secured a positive ¥1,673 million. The company maintains a near debt-free financial structure, in principle funding working capital from its own resources, and possesses the financial soundness to secure M&A investment capacity from retained earnings.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue moved from ¥25,137 million in FY2022 to ¥17,048 million in FY2023 to ¥16,945 million in FY2024 — two consecutive years of stagnation — before sharply accelerating to ¥20,335 million in FY2025 (+20.0%) and ¥29,948 million in FY2026 (+47.3%). Operating profit reached ¥2,100 million in FY2026 (+64.4%), ordinary profit ¥2,108 million (+66.4%), and net income attributable to owners of the parent ¥1,245 million (+42.1%), marking substantial gains across all profit line items. As an external factor, strong demand driven by the full-scale return to in-person (real-world) activity provided a tailwind, and large ongoing projects in gaming, IP, and retail expanded. The consolidation of NPU Corporation as a subsidiary also contributed as part of the steady execution of the M&A strategy. The operating margin improved to 7.0% (from 6.3% in the prior period), but the forecast for FY2027 (ending April 2027) (revenue of ¥30,100 million, operating profit of ¥2,110 million) shows only a slight increase year-on-year, and a significant improvement in margin is not expected.
Growth Strategy
Three-pronged strategy of M&A roll-up, group synergies, and direct order expansion
A strategy of expanding business scope and client base through active M&A. In FY2026 (ending April 2026), NPU Inc. was made a consolidated subsidiary, rapidly expanding high-brand projects. In the next fiscal period, full-year earnings contribution from NPU Inc. is expected, with profitability improvements anticipated at other subsidiaries as well.
Promoting joint proposals among consolidated group companies to build a framework for proposing higher-quality solutions than before. This has realized synergy effects through new client acquisition and joint development with existing clients, leading to order intake from almost all industries significantly exceeding the previous year's results.
Aiming to move away from dependence on major advertising agencies as intermediaries, promoting an increase in the direct order ratio and new client development. In addition to expanding large-scale continuing projects such as game-related, well-known IP, and major retail accounts, management has noted that new client development has progressed significantly through coordination with the M&A strategy.
