Recent Overview
Increased revenue and profit driven by contribution from Kodera Denshi Seisakusho, though order intake and backlog declined
In FY2026 (ending March 2026), net sales were ¥10,917 million (up 17.9% year on year) and operating income was ¥976 million (up 11.5% year on year), representing increased revenue and profit. In addition to the delivery of a large-scale Emulsifying & Stirring Equipment project, sales from Kodera Denshi Seisakusho Co., Ltd., which joined the group in June 2025, contributed. On the other hand, order intake decreased to ¥8,610 million (down 9.8% year on year) and order backlog decreased to ¥4,446 million (down 11.9% year on year). The main causes were the completion in the current period of large-scale pure water equipment/wastewater treatment equipment construction received in the prior period, a shortage of new large-scale orders, and weak overseas order intake due to sluggish Chinese economic conditions. The depreciation method was changed from the declining-balance method to the straight-line method, increasing operating income for the current period by ¥153 million.
Key Products
Growth Drivers
- Expansion of net sales and business domain through Kodera Denshi Seisakusho Co., Ltd. joining the group (June 2025), a niche top company in the domestic wire harness processing machine market
- Contribution to net sales from securing a large-scale Emulsifying & Stirring Equipment project
- Continuation of M&A strategy based on the Medium-Term Management Plan <'24-'26> (grouping niche top companies)
- Profit-boosting effect from changing the depreciation method to the straight-line method, reflecting expectations of stable utilization of tangible fixed assets amid increased capital expenditure
- Room for securing new large-scale orders in Mizuho Kogyo Co., Ltd.'s water treatment and tank business
Risks
- Risk of revenue fluctuation due to dependence on large-scale Emulsifying & Stirring Equipment projects (order intake and backlog declined year on year)
- Weak overseas order intake due to sluggish Chinese economic conditions (impact on overseas business including Meinoga Machinery (Wuxi) Co., Ltd.)
- Impairment risk related to goodwill recorded through M&A (¥2,037 million for Kodera Denshi Seisakusho Co., Ltd., amortized equally over 10 years)
- Delays in procurement of parts and materials and rising prices of raw materials and energy due to geopolitical risks, etc.
- Risk of customers curbing capital expenditure due to a slowdown in the global economy (heightened tensions in the Middle East, Trump tariffs, etc.)
- Geopolitical and foreign exchange risks at the Chinese location (Meinoga Machinery (Wuxi) Co., Ltd.)
