Business Details

Comprises three fields: Inkjet Printing (IJP) applications, nanoimprint applications, and film applications. The segment develops, manufactures, and sells thin-film forming equipment for organic EL displays and microdisplays (OLEDoS, μLEDoS), waveguide forming systems for AR smart glasses, and roll-to-roll systems for flexible devices. The segment also engages in a nanoimprint lithography business through a joint venture with equity-method affiliate Nanolithosolutions, Inc. Customers are mainly AR/VR device makers and display panel makers.

Recent Overview

Net sales surged 288.9% year on year, but the loss widened

In the cumulative nine months of FY2026 (ending June 2026) (July 2025 to March 2026), net sales in the IJP Solutions Business reached ¥1,421 million (up 288.9% year on year), achieving a substantial increase in sales, mainly driven by progress in shipments of the batch sealing line for microdisplays. On the other hand, segment loss widened to ¥567 million (compared with a loss of ¥102 million in the same period of the prior year). Demand in new application fields such as silicon photonics semiconductors has also been confirmed, and the company continues to focus on launching the nanoimprint lithography business through its joint venture.

Key Products

product
Batch Sealing Line for Microdisplays (IJP Equipment)

A batch sealing line supporting mass production processes for microdisplays used in AR/VR devices. Shipments progressed during the cumulative nine months of FY2026 (ending March 2026), and customer inquiries have continued. Expansion into new application fields, such as for silicon photonics semiconductors, has also been confirmed.

product
Nanoimprint Forming Equipment (for Optical Devices)

A core product of the nanoimprint lithography business conducted through the joint venture Nanolithosolutions, Inc. The company is focusing on launching the business for anti-reflection pattern forming systems for tablets and similar devices, and is also expanding into new application fields such as silicon photonics semiconductors.

product
Film Laminating Equipment / Roll-to-Roll Application System

Roll-to-roll process equipment for manufacturing flexible displays and optical films. Addresses customers' needs for advanced manufacturing processes in the film application field.

Growth Drivers

  • Recovery and increase in capital expenditure for microdisplays driven by expansion of end-application markets such as AR/VR smart glasses
  • Launch and order acquisition for the nanoimprint lithography business (anti-reflection pattern forming for tablets, applications for silicon photonics) through joint venture Nanolithosolutions, Inc.
  • Emergence of demand in new application fields such as silicon photonics semiconductors
  • Full-scale emergence of mass-production demand for next-generation microdisplays such as OLEDoS and μLEDoS
  • Explicit policy in the medium-term management plan (FY2026-FY2028, ending June 2028) to concentrate management resources on the IJP Solutions Business
  • Improved production capacity through utilization of the clean room in the new equipment assembly building

Risks

  • Risk of orders and shipments being pushed back to subsequent periods due to reviews or postponements of customers' capital expenditure plans
  • Risk of uneven demand due to delays in the emergence of end-application markets such as AR/VR glasses
  • Risk of prolonged customer verification processes and delayed commercialization in the nanoimprint lithography business
  • Risk of delayed profitability due to the burden of fixed costs and development expenses, despite the rapid expansion of net sales, as the loss has widened
  • Risk of additional impairment of fixed assets, given the impairment loss of ¥283 million recorded in FY2025 (ended June 2025)
  • Risk of delayed commercialization at Nanolithosolutions, Inc., for which equity-method investment losses (¥26 million on a group-wide basis in the cumulative nine months of this fiscal year) continue
