Business Details
Centered on precision screw components, this segment performs integrated production—from design through inspection and packaging—of metal products including cold-forged parts, industrial fasteners, and screw manufacturing tools, and sells them domestically and in overseas markets centered on Asia and North America. Major customers include the automotive-related industry (for CASE and ADAS applications), data centers, and gaming console manufacturers. As the Group's largest segment, accounting for approximately 74.5% of consolidated net sales, it is driving the expansion of high-value-added products and margin improvement through the earnings contribution of its Indian subsidiaries.
Recent Overview
Operating profit increased significantly, up 157.9% year on year, driven by growth in automotive screws and the contribution from Indian subsidiaries.
For Q1 FY2026 (ending December 2026), the Fastener Business recorded net sales of ¥9,377 million (up 9.4% year on year) and operating profit of ¥631 million (up 157.9% year on year). Screws and parts for automotive applications, the segment's principal demand source, increased, while precision screws for gaming consoles declined due to order adjustments but remained at a high level. The two Indian subsidiaries (including VULCAN FORGE PRIVATE LIMITED) made consolidated subsidiaries through M&A in March 2025 contributed to earnings, and the absence of M&A-related expenses recorded in the same period of the prior year also contributed to the improvement in profit.
Key Products
Growth Drivers

Risks
- Impact on exports and supply chains from US tariff policy and trade friction
- Sluggish overseas demand due to the slowdown in the Chinese and European economies
- Fluctuations in orders due to postponement of, or a wait-and-see approach to, capital expenditure in the automotive-related industry (including the impact of fewer domestic model change plans)
- Rising manufacturing costs due to elevated resource prices and energy costs
- Risks related to the integration and operation of Indian subsidiaries (the Vulcan Group)
- Foreign exchange risk (impact on earnings from yen depreciation or appreciation)
- Risk of order adjustments for precision screws for gaming consoles
