Business Details

The Domestic Business is Japan's only comprehensive foundation construction segment, providing an integrated offering of design, manufacturing, and construction of concrete piles, steel pipe piles, and cast-in-place piles, centered on the core subsidiary Japan Pile Corporation. Its main customers are general contractors, trading companies, and agents, and it possesses one of the industry's leading design and construction divisions. Peripheral businesses include Shintoku Kogyo Co., Ltd., which manufactures joint fittings, and from FY2026 (ending March 2026), Takayama Kiso Kogyo Co., Ltd. was newly consolidated. Its strength lies in proposing optimal foundation construction through one-stop sales covering all pile types.

Recent Overview

Minimized the impact of delayed start of large-scale projects, achieving higher sales and a doubling of operating profit

In the Domestic Business for FY2026 (ending March 2026), net sales reached ¥94,965 million (up 14.4% year on year) and segment profit reached ¥9,460 million (up 96.3% year on year), achieving substantial growth in both revenue and profit. Although domestic concrete pile shipment volume declined 2.6% year on year, underperforming the industry overall (down 0.2% year on year), the company benefited from securing orders for highly profitable large-diameter and large-scale construction projects, steady project progress, and cost reductions achieved through leveling and streamlining of production and construction processes. The newly consolidated Takayama Kiso Kogyo Co., Ltd. also contributed to strengthening the business foundation.

Key Products

product
Concrete Piles (Manufacturing, Construction, Sales)

Provides an integrated offering of manufacturing, sales, and construction of concrete piles such as PHC piles. The company is promoting a shift toward large-diameter and large-scale construction projects, and is focusing on securing highly profitable orders even as overall industry shipment volume shows a slight declining trend.

product
Steel Pipe Piles (Construction, Sales)

Handles large-scale projects such as large logistics facilities, semiconductor-related factories, and data centers. Plays a key role in one-stop proposals in combination with concrete piles.

service
Cast-in-Place Piles (Construction, Sales)

Provides cast-in-place pile construction for large-scale urban redevelopment projects and special ground conditions. Forms the core of the company's capability to handle all pile types, enabling optimal foundation construction proposals to general contractors.

product
Joint Fittings & Concrete Secondary Product Fittings

Manufactures and sells peripheral products such as joint fittings used in concrete pile construction. Vertical integration within the group contributes to improved construction quality and profitability.

Growth Drivers

  • Steady capital investment demand for large logistics facilities, semiconductor-related factories, data centers, and large-scale urban redevelopment projects
  • Improved profitability and expanded market share through a shift toward large-diameter and large-scale construction projects
  • Differentiation and optimal foundation construction proposals through one-stop sales covering all pile types (concrete piles, steel pipe piles, cast-in-place piles)
  • New market development through expanded sales of the new construction method 'JP-Pile Method' for small and medium-sized projects
  • Strengthened business foundation through the consolidation of Takayama Kiso Kogyo Co., Ltd.
  • Continued promotion of cost reduction through leveling and streamlining of production and construction processes

Risks

  • General contractors becoming more cautious about starting construction due to rising construction material costs, tight labor supply-demand, and overtime work cap regulations
  • Risk of sales being carried over to the next period due to delayed commencement of large-scale projects or design changes
  • Decline in construction profitability due to intensified order competition (notably in steel pipe piles and cast-in-place piles)
  • Declining trend in shipment volume across the domestic concrete pile industry as a whole (down 0.2% year on year in FY2026, ending March 2026)
  • Risk of wider performance fluctuations due to concentration of large-scale construction projects
  • Impact of geopolitical risks, such as worsening conditions in the Middle East, on domestic capital investment demand
