Business

Ricksoft Corporation was founded in 2005 and operates the Tool Solutions Business as a single segment, providing globally acclaimed advanced tools—centered on Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc.)—to Japanese enterprises. The business consists of three categories: "License & SI Services," "Managed Services," and "Proprietary Products," offering a comprehensive range of services from research and analysis to design, implementation, deployment, and operation. Its main customers are primarily large enterprises, capturing DX promotion needs across all industries, including manufacturing, finance, insurance, and wholesale/retail. Through its U.S. subsidiary Ricksoft, Inc., the company also engages in global sales of its proprietary add-on products, conducting business both domestically and internationally.

Business Model

The core revenue is license sales (approximately 82% of FY2026 revenue), in which the company purchases licenses from Atlassian and resells them to customers, with discounts based on partner rank underpinning cost competitiveness. Licenses have a recurring nature, renewing at the same amount from the following year onward, and the company pursues a land-and-expand strategy to expand usage within large enterprises. Added to this are SI and consulting services, monthly billing for the cloud managed service "RickCloud," and sales of proprietary add-ons via the Atlassian Marketplace, forming a multi-layered revenue structure.

Company Strengths

Maintains a top position in Atlassian's partner ranking and won the Cloud Migration category at the "Atlassian Partner of the Year Awards 2023." The company continues to expand its number of certified engineers as a key KPI, differentiating itself from competing partners. It has a track record of over 15 years since concluding its partner agreement in 2009.

Ranked on the "High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 2025" list for seven consecutive years. Revenue grew approximately 2.5-fold over four years, from ¥4,308 million in FY2022 (ending March 2022) to ¥10,893 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026), with sustained high growth also recognized by third-party organizations.

The company globally sells proprietary products such as "WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira" and "Excel-like Issue Editor for Jira" via the Atlassian Marketplace. Currently, overseas users outnumber domestic users, and sales of proprietary software development in FY2026 (ending March 2026) maintained high growth, increasing 127.9% year on year.

ENVALITH's Perspective

Revenue for Q1 of FY2027 (ending February 2027) was ¥2,840 million (down 1.1% year-on-year), marking the first year-on-year decline. However, this follows a rebound from the prior-year quarter, in which a ¥33 million foreign exchange loss had significantly depressed ordinary income; as a result, ordinary income for this Q1 improved substantially to ¥127 million (up 31.2% year-on-year), and net income rose to ¥92 million (up 24.8% year-on-year). The absolute level of revenue remains elevated, and the normalization of an external factor (foreign exchange) improving the quality of profit is a positive point worth noting.

The full-year forecast for FY2027 (ending February 2027) calls for revenue of ¥12,195 million (up 12.0% year-on-year) against operating profit of ¥200 million (down 46.7% year-on-year), a substantial projected decline in profit that the company has maintained. Q1 operating profit of ¥125 million represents 62.8% of the full-year forecast of ¥200 million, suggesting a structure weighted toward the second half. Amid continued upfront costs from strategic investments and rising personnel expenses, whether revenue growth can absorb these costs will be the key focus for the full year.

The contract liability balance at the end of Q1 stood at ¥4,986 million, up ¥509 million from the end of the previous fiscal year, indicating an accumulation of future revenue for which payment has already been received in advance. On the other hand, accounts receivable and contract assets decreased by ¥259 million, requiring attention to the sequencing of revenue recognition. While visibility of recurring revenue is increasing, the timing and scale of revenue contribution from global expansion (the Singapore base) will be a key point differentiating future assessments.

Growth Strategy

Expanding the business domain along three axes: advanced technology provision, land-and-expand strategy, and global expansion

DX demand aimed at "business model transformation" through the implementation of advanced technologies such as generative AI is gaining momentum across all industries. The company aims to capture demand for cloud, AI, RPA, and other technologies, and to strengthen consulting services in order to raise unit prices and establish its position as a partner for realizing customer DX.

The company is promoting the expansion of Atlassian product usage within large enterprise customers and building up recurring revenue. Contract liabilities balance of ¥4,986 million at the end of Q1 (up ¥509 million from the end of the previous fiscal year) illustrates this progress. The company aims to expand orders through both deepening existing customer relationships and acquiring new customers.

In June 2026, the company resolved to enter into a capital and business alliance with Information Officer Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and plans to change its name to Ricksoft Singapore Pte. Ltd. Leveraging a customer base spanning from Southeast Asia to the United States, the company will accelerate business expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company is pursuing productivity improvements and cost reductions through the promotion of internal DX and work style reform, driving transformation toward an organizational structure adapted to the business environment. SG&A expenses in Q1 were ¥481 million (down ¥13 million year on year), partially demonstrating the effect of these cost reduction efforts.
