Business

TeamSpirit Corporation has adopted the mission of "Changing the way we work, unleashing the power of teams," and provides the "TeamSpirit" series as SaaS, integrating attendance management, work-hour management, expense reimbursement, electronic approval workflows, and more. With over 2,100 companies and over 660,000 users domestically, it primarily targets enterprise companies with 1,000 or more employees. It is built on Salesforce's Lightning Platform and boasts the No. 1 cumulative sales record in Japan on AppExchange. In recent years, the company has been accelerating its multi-product expansion, including the AI meeting minutes tool "Synclog" (an AI-powered meeting minutes tool), talent management, and safety confirmation services.

Business Model

The company charges client companies a service fee based on the usage period, billed as a subscription per number of users. Approximately 90% of revenue consists of recurring revenue comprising license revenue and premier support revenue, resulting in high revenue stability. Since annual contract amounts are collected as a lump-sum prepayment, no recurring working capital is required, and cash flow is also stable. Under the OEM partner agreement with Salesforce, a monthly per-license fee is incurred as a cost of sales, but the structure allows the company to keep capital expenditure and operational investment low.

Company Strengths

The company offers "TeamSpirit Enterprise," specialized for large enterprises with 1,000 to 100,000 employees, with a track record of over 2,100 companies having adopted it. It provides standard support for diverse work arrangements such as fixed working hours, variable working hours, and flextime systems, and in customer surveys, more than 80% of respondents reported that they were able to reduce working hours.

The product is built on the Lightning Platform of Salesforce, Inc. of the United States, ensuring the security and availability required to support everything from financial institutions to global enterprises. It boasts the No.1 cumulative sales record in Japan on AppExchange, and has also built alliances with global top companies such as SAP, Workday, and Deloitte.

The company had recorded operating losses for three consecutive periods in FY2022, FY2023, and FY2024, but in FY2025 (ended August 2025) achieved net sales of ¥4,922 million (up 11.3% year on year) and operating profit of ¥269 million, turning profitable. This was supported by management efficiency improvements, including fixed cost reductions from the downsizing of the Singapore subsidiary's business and a review of measures with low cost-effectiveness.

ENVALITH's Perspective

Operating profit for the cumulative nine months of FY2026 (ending August 2026) stood at ¥431 million, already exceeding the full-year forecast of ¥430 million. However, the company has left its earnings forecast unchanged, explicitly stating that it expects to incur feature development investment related to Salesforce's security enhancement measures and upfront investment aimed at accelerating growth from the following fiscal period onward in the fourth quarter. The magnitude of the cost increase in Q4 alone will be key to the full-year outcome, and disclosure of the scale and content of these investments will be the next point of evaluation.

Professional Services revenue surged 71.3% year on year to ¥1,024 million, reflecting an accumulation of orders for enterprise-oriented implementation projects. Given the structure in which revenue converts to license revenue after implementation is completed, the current surge in Professional Services can be interpreted as a leading indicator of future ARR and license revenue expansion. On the other hand, Professional Services tends to carry lower profit margins than licenses, and the impact of changes in revenue mix on gross margin warrants continued monitoring.

Following the acquisition of 1,244,800 treasury shares (approximately ¥600 million) via ToSTNeT-3 in January 2026, net assets fell to ¥1,336 million (down ¥287 million from the end of the previous fiscal year), and the equity ratio declined from 36.1% to 26.1%. In addition, ¥460 million in long-term borrowings has been newly recorded under fixed liabilities, raising financial leverage. Furthermore, the mandatory application of Salesforce's security enhancement measures could affect Q4 results, and external constraints on costs and development resources stemming from platform dependence remain a continuing risk factor.

Growth Strategy

Aiming for ¥10.0 billion in ARR by 2030 through a three-pronged approach of deepening enterprise penetration, multi-product expansion, and management efficiency improvements

Expanding adoption of "TeamSpirit Enterprise" among enterprise companies with 1,000 or more employees. Strengthening partner alliances, including the launch of collaboration with Abeam Consulting, and emphasizing the ability to accommodate complex work regulations and diverse employment types. The number of users surpassed 700,000 in March 2026, with new and additional orders in the enterprise segment driving growth.

Building out peripheral products around attendance management—such as Pulse Survey, Talent Management, Synclog (AI meeting minutes), and Labor Management (released February 2026)—in a speedy manner. Aiming to expand ARR through both cross-selling to existing customers and acquisition of new customers. Professional Services revenue surged 71.3% year-on-year, confirming an accumulation of implementation projects.

Continuously promoting the review of low cost-effectiveness initiatives and fixed cost reductions, balancing growth investment with profitability improvement. The cumulative operating margin for the first three quarters of FY2026 (ending August 2026) improved significantly to 9.7% (versus 6.0% in the same period of the previous year). Against the full-year operating profit forecast of ¥430 million, ¥431 million had already been recorded on a cumulative three-quarter basis, but the forecast has been left unchanged in anticipation of increased investment in Q4.

In response to the mandatory enforcement of Salesforce's global security enhancement initiative, the company plans to make functional development investments in Q4 to support users. At the same time, investment is also anticipated to accelerate business growth from the following fiscal year onward. This response is the main reason for the increase in Q4 costs, and the company has explicitly cited it as the reason for keeping the full-year earnings forecast unchanged.
