Business Details

A mobility × payment composite segment providing taxi dispatch/payment services, bus-related services, IP radio, dynamic management systems, and more on a one-stop basis. Starting from the public transportation field, the segment is promoting horizontal expansion of its cashless payment infrastructure to municipalities and other industries. Kaytus (ケイティーエス) also operates the Hotel Multimedia System business, but this business continues to struggle. From Q1 FY2026, the segment name was changed from "IoT" to "IoT & Payment."

Recent Overview

Q1 FY2026 was strong, with net sales up 12.3% year on year and operating profit up 26.6% year on year. The segment name was also changed.

In Q1 FY2026 (ending March 2026), taxi dispatch/payment services and bus-related services performed steadily, and with contribution from IP radio, net sales to external customers reached ¥2,680 million (up 12.3% year on year), and segment operating profit reached ¥583 million (up 26.6% year on year), driving Group performance. On the other hand, the hotel-related service business continued to underperform, and the company is reviewing its sales structure and rebuilding its sales strategy. Following the transfer of shares in ciRobotics Corporation to REALIZE Corporation in December 2025, the segment name was changed from "IoT" to "IoT & Payment" starting this quarter.

Growth Drivers

  • Continued solid demand for IP radio and mobility-related services centered on the public transportation and logistics fields
  • Accelerating horizontal expansion of the Payment business into municipal and private service fields (supported by cashlessization policies)
  • Sustained segment momentum driven by expansion of taxi dispatch/payment services and bus-related services
  • Building a continuous revenue base through a subscription-type business model
  • Transition to a results-realization phase of the growth foundation based on the medium-term management plan (FY2026–FY2028) announced in February 2026

Risks

  • The continued shrinkage of the customer base in Kaytus's (ケイティーエス) Hotel Multimedia System business, with an unclear outlook for turnaround
  • Risk of intensifying competition as the Payment business expands into multiple areas
  • Continued risk of impairment losses on fixed assets in the IoT & Payment segment
  • Possibility that changes in the external environment, such as U.S. trade policy, may affect the investment decisions of some customers
  • Risk of fluctuation in subscription revenue associated with the divestiture of certain businesses
