Business
Optim Corporation operates under the mission of "turning the internet into air," leveraging AI, IoT, and robotics technologies to drive industrial digital transformation (AX: AI Transformation). In its core AX Business, the company starts from IT-department AX services centered on MDM (Mobile Device Management) and develops multi-layered AI services for the medical, construction, office, and municipal government sectors. In the AgriTech Business, the company has expanded its Smart Agriculture Service, centered on drone-based pesticide spraying, across 134 municipalities in 25 prefectures covering 32,000 hectares, growing into Japan's largest drone spraying service. Its major customers span a wide range, including corporations, municipal governments, agricultural producers, and medical institutions.
Business Model
The AX Business is centered on recurring (stock-type) revenue from monthly and annual SaaS license fees, with AX Service stock revenue for FY2026 (ending March 2026) maintained at ¥7,052 million and a stock revenue ratio of 81.4%. Centered on OPTiM Biz, which has a customer base of over 180,000 companies, the company aims to raise average revenue per customer through upselling to OPTiM Biz Premium. The AgriTech Business combines area-based billing for drone spraying services with agricultural BPO, and is in a growth investment phase pursuing rapid expansion in revenue scale.
Company Strengths
According to a survey by Deloitte Tohmatsu MIC Economic Research Institute, OPTiM Biz has secured the No.1 domestic MDM market share for 15 consecutive years. With a deployment track record at over 180,000 companies, it has achieved high revenue predictability, with a recurring revenue ratio of 81.4% and recurring revenue of ¥7,052 million. The customer base and high retention rate, which are difficult for competitors to replicate in a short period, support the profit margin.
As of the end of FY2026 (ending March 2026), the company had registered 606 patents in total, consisting of 428 domestic and 178 overseas patents. It has continued to actively file applications centered on Smart Agriculture and generative AI related services, building a multi-layered patent network that extends beyond core technologies to peripheral technologies such as functional extensions, operational UI, and operation methods. This aims to reduce imitation risk and improve business stability.
The drone pesticide spraying AX service in the AgriTech Business has expanded to 134 municipalities across 25 prefectures, covering 133,000 fields and 32,000 hectares, growing to become the largest in scale in Japan. 98% of producers who used the service during the current fiscal year wish to continue using it in the following fiscal year, and it has received high praise from JA (Japan Agricultural Cooperatives) and Zen-Noh. Horizontal expansion into other crops such as scallions and mandarin oranges is also progressing in earnest, diversifying revenue sources.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue grew for five consecutive fiscal years, rising from ¥8,311 million in FY2022 to ¥11,732 million in FY2026. The FY2026 revenue growth rate accelerated to 10.9% from 3.3% in the prior period, driven by the AgriTech Business (up 52.7% year on year). Operating profit rose only marginally to ¥1,970 million (up 0.8% year on year), as a higher cost-of-sales ratio (due to growth investment in AgriTech) and increased SG&A expenses constrained profit expansion. Profit attributable to owners of parent declined for the first time in five periods to ¥1,114 million (down 5.4% year on year), reflecting the recognition of a ¥173 million valuation loss on investment securities. For FY2027, the company forecasts revenue of ¥12,980 million (up 10.6% year on year) and operating profit of ¥1,980 million (up 0.5% year on year), continuing the pattern of revenue growth with only marginal profit growth.
Growth Strategy
Two-pronged growth through deepening AX recurring revenue and monetizing the AgriTech BPO platform
The company launched "OPTiM Biz Premium," an all-in-one solution integrating MDM, SaaS management, and ID management, and is promoting upsell to its existing customer base of over 180,000 companies as well as expanded sales through partner channels. By appealing to full automation and efficiency of IT department operations, it aims to increase revenue and profit through higher ARPU.
Leveraging its smart agriculture platform covering over 30,000ha, the company is building a "horizontally-divided cultivation model" that enables BPO of the entire farming process, from tilling to harvesting and sales. By suppressing individual capital investment, it provides producers nationwide with cost competitiveness on par with large corporations, accelerating the profitability of the AgriTech Business.
Riding the tailwind of generative AI being included as a requirement in the FY2026 (Reiwa 8) medical fee schedule revision, the company is advancing PoC implementations and formal adoption of "OPTiM AI Hospital," which uses generative AI to significantly reduce document creation and management work, at multiple hospitals. Leveraging third-party evaluation through publication in internationally peer-reviewed papers, it aims to establish its position in the medical DX market.
The "Municipal Official Super App" has been listed in the Digital Agency's Digital Regional Revitalization Service Catalog, enhancing its credibility with municipalities as a government-standard-compliant service. Based on its track record of adoption by municipalities such as Hashikami Town in Aomori Prefecture and Kanzaki City in Saga Prefecture, the company is accelerating nationwide expansion to grow revenue in the communication AX domain.
