Business
Banners Co., Ltd. is a diversified company listed on the TSE Standard Market, based in Saitama Prefecture. Founded in 1950 as a silk-reeling business, the company has undergone repeated business transformations and now operates three segments: (1) Real Estate Utilization business, leasing land, buildings, and parking lots; (2) Automobile Sales business, handling sales, maintenance, and insurance sales for Honda vehicles (through its consolidated subsidiary, Honda New Saitama Co., Ltd.); and (3) Musical Instrument Sales business, importing, selling, and repairing double reed instruments (through Nippon Double Reed Corporation and others). Its main customers range widely from local residents, Honda vehicle users, and professional musicians to wind ensemble club members, forming a community-based business portfolio. Consolidated net sales for FY2026 (ending March 2026) were ¥5,653 million.
Business Model
The automobile sales business, accounting for approximately 81% of revenue, provides scale, while the real estate utilization business—with revenue of ¥434 million against segment profit of ¥313 million (a margin of approximately 72%)—serves as the core driver of group profit. The musical instrument sales business is a specialized segment with revenue of ¥661 million and profit of ¥45 million. This is a portfolio-type earnings structure built on the stable cash flow from real estate leasing, supplemented by sales and service revenue from automobiles and musical instruments.
Company Strengths
The real estate utilization business recorded net sales of ¥434 million and segment profit of ¥313 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026), achieving a profit margin of approximately 72%. This single segment's profit contribution exceeds the group's overall operating profit of ¥279 million, with stable rental income underpinning the group's earnings.
The musical instrument sales business operates as a specialty store focused on double reed instruments, serving a wide customer base ranging from professional performers and music university students to junior high school brass band members. It creates repeat demand by providing value-added services such as adjustment and repair by specialized technical staff and mini-concerts by renowned overseas performers.
In the automobile sales business, a web-based maintenance reservation system has been introduced, with customer usage expanding steadily. The company is implementing measures to strengthen customer touchpoints in both sales and service, including promoting purchases through residual value credit proposals and enhancing employee expertise through support for obtaining qualifications.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue grew from ¥3,924 million in FY2022 → ¥4,335 million in FY2023 → ¥4,685 million in FY2024 → ¥5,601 million in FY2025 → ¥5,653 million in FY2026, maintaining an upward trend, but growth sharply decelerated from +19.6% in the prior period to +0.9% in the current period. Operating profit declined ▲18.6% from ¥343 million in FY2025 to ¥279 million in FY2026, breaking the streak of five consecutive years of profit growth. The main causes were an increase in SG&A expenses (up approximately ¥93 million) and a sharp decline in automobile sales segment profit (from ¥94 million to ¥45 million). As an external factor, rising costs due to inflation and yen depreciation squeezed profitability in musical instrument sales. The company expects a recovery in operating profit to ¥322 million (+15.2%) in FY2027 (ending March 2027).
Growth Strategy
Sustainable growth through aggressive expansion of real estate investment and enhancement of service sophistication in automobile and musical instrument sales
While continuing the redevelopment of an existing property in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, the company newly acquired land and buildings in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture in October 2025. Based on real estate market conditions and interest rate trends, the company has adopted a policy of acquiring additional quality properties rooted in local communities, aiming to strengthen its profit base through the accumulation of rental income.
By introducing a web-based maintenance reservation system, the company aims to improve intake rates for repairs and inspections while securing ongoing points of contact with customers. Combining detailed proposal activities with capital investment to improve work efficiency, the company aims to shift from a low-margin, new-car-sales-dependent structure to one with a higher proportion of service revenue.
By improving the skills of personnel in the repair and sales departments, the company provides highly specialized, continuously chosen services through thorough maintenance and after-sales service. By introducing products and conducting sales activities that respond to changes in market conditions, the company is strengthening its structure to secure profitability even amid rising procurement costs.
