Growth Drivers

  • Growth in tourist and duty-free sales driven by increasing numbers of visitors to Okinawa Prefecture (both domestic and international tourists)
  • Steady existing-store sales driven by enhanced promotional measures using the "San-A App" and increased in-store tasting promotions
  • Strengthened sales of PB products (Kurashi Moa, Lawson Original, Seijo Ishii) and differentiated products
  • Improved operational efficiency and increased customer service time through introduction of electronic shelf labels and full self-checkout systems
  • Improved store competitiveness through renovation of existing stores (Makiminato store, Nishihara City, Tomigusuku Wing City, etc.)
  • Expansion of the online sales business through the launch of a net supermarket in collaboration with Amazon

Risks

  • Loss of sales opportunities and temporary increases in expenses during store closures for rebuilding and renovation of existing stores
  • Growing consumer thrift consciousness amid ongoing inflation-driven price increases, affecting customer traffic and average spending per customer
  • Pressure on profit margins from labor shortages and rising costs such as personnel expenses and utility costs
  • Intensifying cross-format competition (competition with drugstores, discount stores, etc.)
  • Risk of rising procurement costs due to overseas economic uncertainty and exchange rate fluctuations
  • Impact of weather and natural disasters such as typhoons on store operations (potential for both upward and downward effects on sales)
