Recent Overview
A cyberattack-induced system outage caused sharp declines in both revenue and business profit
A cyberattack that occurred on September 29, 2025 halted Japan's order-receiving and shipping systems, leading to a significant decline in revenue and profit in the fourth quarter. Revenue fell 3.7% year on year to ¥1,327,191 million, and business profit declined 16.1% year on year to ¥111,623 million. Despite efforts to implement price revisions and various cost efficiencies, the effects of the system outage, increased raw material costs, and the impact of the withdrawal from the restaurant business combined to sharply reduce segment profit (operating profit) by 53.1% year on year to ¥62,584 million. Impairment losses also expanded to ¥12,488 million, approximately 2.3 times the prior year.
