Business Details

This segment produces and sells chicken, frozen processed foods, eggs, milk, and other products, with direct-trade-style consumer cooperatives and home delivery companies as its main customers. It differentiates itself through safe food produced without reliance on pesticides or antibiotics, and its principal customers are Green Coop Federation of Consumers' Cooperatives and Seikatsu Club Consumers' Cooperative Union. Group-affiliated cooperating farms and subsidiaries handle integrated production, and the segment also includes the China chicken business through Akikawa Farm (Changzhou) Agriculture Co., Ltd., which was consolidated as a subsidiary in March 2024.

Recent Overview

Both net sales and profit rose substantially on strong frozen processed food sales and price revision effects

In the Production and Wholesale segment for FY2026 (ending March 2026), expanding demand for chicken and frozen processed foods amid consumers' growing thrift-consciousness combined with the effects of product price revisions to drive net sales of ¥6,622 million (up 5.7% year on year) and segment profit of ¥558 million (up 35.5% year on year), a substantial increase. Productivity improvements at frozen food plants and meat processing plants also contributed to the profit improvement.
