Business Details
Manufactures and sells Industrial Plastic Fasteners and Plastic Precision Molded Parts. Main customers are Japanese and Korean automakers, and the segment maintains an extensive global production network both domestically (Nifco Yamagata, Kumamoto, Kita-Kanto, etc.) and overseas (the U.S., U.K., Korea, China, Thailand, India, Indonesia, etc.). It provides engineering plastic products that contribute to weight reduction, cost reduction, and workload mitigation, and represents the core segment accounting for approximately 89.5% of consolidated net sales.
Recent Overview
Net sales and profit both declined slightly year on year; rising prices and labor costs pressured profit
For the fiscal year under review (April 2025 to March 2026), net sales were ¥315,691 million (down 0.1% year on year) and segment profit was ¥47,663 million (down 2.8% year on year). Domestically, the segment was affected by automotive production cuts stemming from China's rare earth export restrictions, natural disasters, and Middle East conditions, but exceeded plan due to mold sales and price pass-through. Overseas, sales to Korea were strong, and India and Indonesia were also solid, while China saw lower sales and profit due to weak sales by Japanese automakers. In Europe, sales declined due to the postponement of a new model launch in the U.K., but profit increased due to optimization efforts. The sports and outdoor field saw increased sales and profit. An impairment loss of ¥857 million was recorded during the period.
