Business Details
HI-LEX Corporation itself and domestic subsidiaries (HI-LEX Kanto, Shimane, Saitama, Miyagi, Tajima TSK, etc.) handle the manufacturing and sale of products. In addition to automotive parts such as Control Cable, Window Regulator, and Power Lift Gate, the segment also handles medical equipment such as Ventricular Assist Device (Medical Equipment). From the current interim period, HI-LEX ACT (formerly Mitsui Kinzoku ACT) was newly consolidated, adding Door Latch & Power Slide Door System to the lineup. The segment also has the function of supplying parts to domestic group companies and exporting parts to overseas group companies. Major customers include Toyota Motor Corporation.
Recent Overview
Sales increased 50.6% year-on-year due to ACT integration, but segment loss of ¥5 million continued
Due to the full subsidiarization of HI-LEX ACT (formerly Mitsui Kinzoku ACT) in November 2025, sales to external customers in the Japan segment increased significantly to ¥40,050 million (up ¥13,452 million, or 50.6%, year on year). On the other hand, segment profit fell into a loss of -¥5 million, down from ¥677 million in the same period of the previous year. Cost increases associated with the ACT group integration and an increase in R&D expenses (up ¥938 million year on year to ¥3,188 million) appear to have squeezed profits. The segment loss has continued from the first quarter of the previous fiscal year, and realizing the effects of the integration remains a challenge.
