Business
NCN Co., Ltd. was founded in 1996 with the goal of "spreading safe and secure wooden structures throughout Japan," and provides its proprietary wooden construction system, the SE Construction Method (Housing Sector), through a nationwide network of 637 registered construction partner companies. In its core Wooden Seismic-Resistant Design Business (Single Segment), the company ships structural calculation reports and sells structural processed products, operating across four areas: the housing sector, large-scale wooden construction (non-residential) sector, environmental design sector, and DX sector. Its consolidated subsidiaries include KINO BIM (BIM Solution / MAKE ViZ (KINO BIM)), Mokukozo Design (non-residential structural calculation), and Suiho (Large Cross-Section Laminated Timber Processing / Large-Scale Wooden Construction (Suiho)), forming a one-stop system covering everything from structural design to processing and construction. Over its 30 years since founding, the company has accumulated a track record of more than 30,000 structural calculations.
Business Model
When a registered contractor (construction firm, etc.) receives an order for a property using the SE Construction Method (Housing Sector), the Company issues structural calculation documents during the design phase and sells structural processed products, SE metal fittings, structural particle board, and other materials during the construction phase. The Company also continuously receives registration fees and monthly membership fees from registered contractors. In addition, it provides ancillary services such as the Energy-Saving Calculation Service, Long-Term Quality Housing Application Support, and BIM Solution / MAKE ViZ (KINO BIM), thereby resolving contractors' operational challenges on a one-stop basis and building a revenue structure that enhances customer stickiness.
Company Strengths
Since its founding in 1996, the company's cumulative track record of structural calculations for wooden construction using the SE Construction Method (Housing Sector) has reached over 30,000 buildings as of the end of March 2026. Through its proprietary three-dimensional analysis structural calculation software (WOLF-3) and the new structural certification "SE Construction Method Ver.3" obtained in April 2025, the company has continuously improved design flexibility and seismic performance, accumulating technical expertise that is difficult for competitors to replicate in a short period.
As of the end of March 2026, the company had built a nationwide network of 637 registered construction firms, with 38 new firms joining during the fiscal year under review. Registered construction firms are required to obtain SE Construction Method construction management engineer qualifications, creating a high barrier to entry. This network functions as a sales channel for multiple services, including structural calculations, materials sales, energy-saving calculations, and BIM, supporting the stability of the revenue base.
Revenue in the environmental design field expanded rapidly to ¥403 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026), up 39.0% year on year, with the number of energy-saving calculation reports shipped reaching 4,315, up 34.0% year on year. MAKE ViZ (KINO BIM), which handles the BIM Solution / MAKE ViZ (KINO BIM) business, also performed well, with revenue up 13.0% year on year. Demand for these services is structurally expanding against the backdrop of the mandatory compliance with energy-saving standards that took effect in April 2025, and they are fulfilling a role of complementing the earnings of the core business.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue recovered from the trough of ¥7,998 million in FY2024 (ended March 2024), securing an increase to ¥8,414 million in FY2026 (ending March 2026), up 3.6% year on year. In the housing sector, a decline in units shipped (848 units, down 6.0% year on year) was offset by a rise in unit price (up 6.9% year on year), while the non-residential sector grew 4.5% and the environmental design sector achieved high growth of 39.0%. On the other hand, operating profit decreased to ¥152 million, down 14.6% year on year. In addition to SG&A expenses swelling to ¥2,127 million (up 7.2% year on year), equity in earnings of affiliates plunged from ¥94 million to ¥7 million, resulting in ordinary profit falling 36.0% to ¥187 million. As an external factor, new housing starts in fiscal 2025 totaled 711,171 units, down 12.9% year on year, reflecting continued deterioration in market conditions, and the prolonged review period for building confirmation applications also affected the decline in structural calculation shipments (932 units, down 5.8% year on year).
Growth Strategy
Simultaneous expansion of the residential and non-residential segments leveraging regulatory tailwinds, alongside revenue diversification through DX and energy-saving fields
SE Construction Method (Housing Sector) Ver.3, offered from June 2025, expands the design flexibility advantage over conventional construction methods. Through the consumption of the order backlog that accumulated due to the slowdown in building confirmation applications following the April 2025 regulatory revision, the company plans SE Construction Method (Housing Sector) shipments of 1,041 units (up 22.8% year on year) and housing sector sales of ¥5,468 million (up 15.0% year on year) for FY2027 (ending March 2027).
Through collaboration with Mokukozo Design, KINO BIM, and Suiho, the company provides one-stop support for non-residential wooden construction such as stores and lodging facilities. For FY2027 (ending March 2027), the company plans non-residential structural calculation shipments of 278 units (up 6.5% year on year), SE Construction Method (Large-Scale Wooden Construction / Non-Residential Sector) shipments of 156 units (up 10.6% year on year), and sales of ¥3,152 million (up 2.4% year on year).
Against the backdrop of the mandatory energy conservation standard compliance from April 2025, energy-saving calculation shipments expanded rapidly to 4,315 cases (up 34.0% year on year) and Long-Term Quality Housing Application Support to 633 cases (up 29.4% year on year). Through expanding coverage to renovations, multi-unit residences, and non-residential buildings, the company plans sales of ¥485 million (up 20.4% year on year) for FY2027 (ending March 2027).
While maintaining strong orders for the high-quality architectural space simulation service "MAKE ViZ" (sales up 13.0% year on year in FY2026, ending March 2026), the company is strengthening the rollout of "MAKE DoC," a service that creates confirmation application design documents using BIM. This is positioned as an upfront investment in anticipation of the future digitalization of building confirmation applications.
