Business

ROBOT PAYMENT, Inc. upholds the vision of "strengthening Japan once again through payment infrastructure that liberates commercial transactions," and originated as an internet payment processing agency service founded in 2000. The company currently operates two segments: the Payment business ("Subsc Pay," "Subsc Pay Professional," "1click Atobarai," and "1click Hayamail") and the Financial Cloud business ("Seikyu Kanri Robo," "Seikyu Kanri Robo for Enterprise," "Seikyu Marunage Robo," and "Factoring Robo for SaaS"). Its primary customers are BtoC operators running EC and subscription businesses as well as BtoB companies, and its business objective is to resolve the three barriers hindering commercial transactions: "convention," "inefficiency," and "credit assessment." The company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in September 2021.

Business Model

In the Payment business, revenue is generated across four categories: initial (upfront implementation fees), stock (fixed monthly fees), spread (fees linked to transaction volume), and fee (fees linked to the number of settlements). In the Financial Cloud business, revenue is generated across two categories: initial and MRR (fixed monthly fee plus usage-based charges). In both businesses, the main drivers of revenue growth are the accumulation of accounts and improvement in ARPA (average monthly revenue per account). For FY2025 (ending December 2025), the recurring revenue ratio stood at an extremely high and stable 98.1% for Payment and 98.3% for Financial Cloud.

Company Strengths

In FY2025 (ending December 2025), the recurring revenue ratio was 98.1% for the Payment business and 98.3% for the Financial Cloud business. As customers continue using services, revenue accumulates in a layered manner, expanding sales from ¥1,395 million in FY2021 to ¥3,256 million in FY2025, more than 2.3x over five years.

ARPA in the Payment business rose from ¥13,120 in FY2021 to ¥19,634 in FY2025, with the number of accounts increasing from 5,897 AC to 8,818 AC. ARPA in the Financial Cloud business rose from ¥78,803 to ¥107,716, with accounts expanding from 594 AC to 1,031 AC. Simultaneous improvement in both metrics is driving revenue growth.

In FY2025 (ending December 2025), sales of ¥3,256 million (up 17.9% year on year), operating profit of ¥774 million (up 61.4%), and net income of ¥542 million (up 69.0%) all reached record highs. In addition to the effect of higher sales, thorough cost management brought the operating profit margin to 23.8%, marking a significant improvement in profitability.

ENVALITH's Perspective

Revenue of ¥881 million in Q1 of FY2026 (ending December 2026) corresponds to 23.9% of the full-year forecast of ¥3,683 million, and operating profit of ¥224 million corresponds to 26.4% of the full-year forecast of ¥850 million. This exceeds the progress rates for the same period of the previous year (revenue 22.9%, operating profit 20.6%), and there is room for upside relative to the full-year earnings forecast (revenue +13.1%, operating profit +9.9%). Note that the full-year earnings forecast remains unchanged, and the company continues to maintain a conservative stance.

Segment profit at Financial Cloud surged 115.1% year-on-year, clearly marking a transition from the investment phase to the harvesting phase. As an external factor, the continued expansion of demand for invoice digitization triggered by the implementation of the invoice system (October 2023) is functioning as a tailwind. If profitability improvement in this segment continues, further improvement in the company-wide operating margin is expected; however, attention should also be paid to the risk that curbing growth investment could affect the pace of new customer acquisition.

Against total assets of ¥8,659 million at the end of Q1 of FY2026 (ending December 2026), the majority (¥6,705 million) of current liabilities of ¥7,294 million consists of deposits received from Payment merchant partners, which differs in nature from substantive business risk. However, the equity ratio remains low at 15.5%, and the apparently high financial leverage requires continued explanation to investors. In addition, revenue dependence on Subsc Pay and intensifying competition in the payment processing market remain points to watch over the medium term.

Growth Strategy

Building recurring revenue through three pillars—new customer acquisition, ARPA improvement, and churn reduction—while pursuing disciplined investment based on the long-term management strategy to enhance corporate value

Against the backdrop of the structural trend toward online commercial transactions, the company is acquiring new customers through aggressive marketing initiatives and reinforced sales structures. It is increasing spread and fee revenue by expanding transaction volume and payment processing counts among existing customers, while accumulating recurring revenue by expanding the customer base for "Subsc Pay Professional."

While continuing to acquire new customers for "Seikyu Kanri Robo," the company is raising per-customer unit prices through strengthened sales to large enterprises and expanded options. It is also reinforcing measures to prevent existing customer churn, achieving both churn suppression and accumulation of recurring revenue. Segment profit for Q1 of FY2026 (ending December 2026) increased 115.1% year-on-year, clearly signaling a transition into the harvest phase.

Based on the "Long-Term Management Strategy Aiming for Dramatic Future Growth" announced on October 10, 2025, the company is executing disciplined investment in accordance with newly established capital allocation criteria. While continuing to achieve revenue and profit growth, it is also focusing on new service development to realize its vision of "payment infrastructure that liberates commercial transactions," aiming for further enhancement of corporate value.
