Business Details
This segment manufactures and sells Functional Chemicals such as fine chemical products, pharmaceutical active ingredients, and pharmaceutical/agrochemical intermediates; Functional Resins such as adhesives; and Electronic Materials such as mold cleaning materials for semiconductors and ceramic substrates. It provides high-value-added products for a wide range of industries including semiconductors, electronic components, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals. The segment is also promoting expanded sales in the Chinese market, and accounts for approximately 30% of the group's consolidated net sales, making it the mainstay segment.
Recent Overview
Net sales decreased year on year, but profit rose sharply by 58%, marking a significant improvement in profitability
In the Electronics & Functional Products segment for FY2026 (ending March 2026), net sales decreased by ¥577 million (3.3%) year on year to ¥16,837 million, while segment profit increased significantly by ¥543 million (58.0%) year on year to ¥1,479 million. Functional Chemicals benefited from increased shipments for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals and the effects of price revisions, while Electronic Materials benefited from increased demand for electronic components as well as price revision and foreign exchange effects. Functional Resins saw lower sales and profit due to intensifying competition in optical-related applications in China, but overall segment profitability improved markedly.
Key Products
Growth Drivers
