Risk Management

Sustainability-related risks are identified and assessed by the Sustainability Promotion Office, and a framework has been established whereby such matters are submitted to the Board of Directors via the Management Committee.

Shareholder Returns

Dividends are paid twice a year (interim and year-end) with a target DOE (consolidated net asset dividend ratio) of 3.5%. Total dividends per share for the fiscal year were ¥40 (interim ¥14 plus a planned year-end dividend of ¥26), representing a significant increase from the previous fiscal year. Share buybacks may be conducted by resolution of the Board of Directors under the Articles of Incorporation.

Dividend Policy

The basic policy is to pay stable and continuous dividends targeting a DOE (consolidated net asset dividend ratio) of 3.5%, with dividends paid twice a year through an interim dividend and a year-end dividend. For the fiscal year under review, the interim dividend was ¥14 per share (resolved by the Board of Directors, total dividend amount ¥176,212 thousand), and the year-end dividend is planned to be ¥26 per share (subject to resolution at the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, total dividend amount ¥327,251 thousand).

Under the environmental philosophy of "Because the Earth cannot change its clothes," the company aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by FY2030 (fiscal year ending March 2031) compared to FY2018 levels (a 36.3% reduction was achieved in the current fiscal year). Under the Sustainability Promotion Office, the Environmental Quality Subcommittee and Human Rights & Labor Subcommittee have been established, and the company is working on eco-friendly finishing development, reduction of water usage, promotion of women's participation in the workforce, and health management initiatives (achieving a 100% regular health checkup rate).
