Business
Ascentech K.K. is a single-segment company operating an IT infrastructure business across three business domains—virtual desktop solutions, cloud infrastructure, and cloud services. In addition to selling and maintaining products under primary distributor agreements with overseas manufacturers such as Cloud Software Group, Inc. and Atrust Computer Corp., the company develops and sells its own proprietary products and services under its in-house brand "Resalio" series. Its main customers include financial institutions, local governments, government agencies, and medical institutions, and it delivers products to end users through more than 300 system integrator partners. The company was established in 2009, listed in 2017, moved to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market in 2022, and transitioned to the Standard Market in 2023.
Business Model
A three-tier structure combining import, sales, and maintenance of overseas manufacturers' products (flow business), high-value-added sales of proprietary planned products such as "Remote PC Array" and the "Resalio" series, and a stock business built on continuing licenses, maintenance, and DaaS. In FY2026 (ending March 2026), stock business revenue expanded to ¥2,119 million (¥2,478 million on a new order basis). Sales are mainly conducted through SIers, with the differentiating factor being an integrated service ranging from consulting by specialized engineers to maintenance and operations.
Company Strengths
In September 2024, the company concluded a capital and business alliance with Cloud Software Group, Inc. of the United States, and established a subsidiary, CXJ, to comprehensively promote the domestic handling of the company's products (business commenced March 2025). Large-scale contract wins associated with this alliance contributed to a substantial increase in earnings for FY2026 (ending March 2026), with net sales of ¥17,254 million and operating income of ¥2,840 million (operating margin of 16.5%).
The "Remote PC Array," a dedicated virtual desktop server manufactured by Taiwan's Atrust and sold exclusively in Japan, is an in-house planned product that solves three issues—initial cost, deployment time, and performance failures—without requiring a hypervisor. Sales have expanded against a backdrop of increasing demand from local governments driven by new Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications guidelines, and growth in sales of this high-gross-margin in-house product has directly contributed to improved profit margins.
The company has built a partner network of over 300 companies, including major system integrators (SIers) and nationwide IT sales companies, and maintains long-standing transaction records and relationships of trust. Its professional service framework, in which engineers who have passed manufacturer technical certification exams provide consistent support from consulting through maintenance and operations, forms a competitive advantage. Engineering resources have also been expanded through the acquisition of subsidiaries Ones Corporation and SIP Co., Ltd.
ENVALITH's Perspective
Performance Trend
Revenue surged 2.8x over two fiscal years, from ¥6,226 million in FY2024 to ¥17,254 million in FY2026, with the operating margin also improving to 16.5%. However, in Q1 of FY2027 (ending January 2027) (February to April 2026), the company posted revenue of ¥3,410 million (down 45.5% year on year) and operating profit of ¥571 million (down 26.7% year on year), representing a substantial decline in both revenue and profit due to a reversal effect from a large-scale virtual desktop software order booked in the same period of the previous year. In addition, a foreign exchange loss of ¥240 million caused by yen depreciation pushed ordinary profit down to ¥363 million (down 68.2% year on year). The full-year forecast (revenue of ¥17,500 million, operating profit of ¥2,000 million) remains unchanged, premised on a recovery in the second half.
Growth Strategy
Pursuing sustainable growth through three pillars: expansion of stock business, launch of new AI products, and strategic partnerships
Expanding proprietary products and self-maintained services such as "Remote PC Array" through industry-specific deployment targeting financial institutions, healthcare, and local governments. In Q1 of FY2027 (ending January 2027), sales-based revenue of ¥688 million and new order intake of ¥795 million were recorded, with continued accumulation progressing steadily.
Newly announced the AI platform for virtual humans "Edge AI Array" and the on-premises AI solution "SapiaBox." The strategy aims to capture growing demand for security-focused AI infrastructure as companies advance their AI utilization. Currently at the product launch stage, with contribution to business performance remaining a future task.
Based on the strategic capital and business alliance with the US-based Cloud Software Group, the company maintains and strengthens its supply capability for Virtual Desktop Solution and Zero Trust Security products. Adoption of Zero Trust Security products among large enterprises is progressing, contributing to improved profit margins. Foreign exchange fluctuation risk remains an ongoing management issue.
