Business

Schoo, Inc. is an online learning service company founded in 2011 under the mission of "eliminating graduation from the world." Centered on its core corporate training service "Schoo for Business" (over 90% of total company revenue), the company also offers "Schoo for Personal" for individuals and "Schoo Swing," a learning management platform for higher education institutions (47 schools cumulatively adopted). The company has approximately 1.35 million active members and over 4,500 cumulative corporate clients (as of end-September 2025). Riding the tailwind of human capital management and reskilling demand, the company's growth axis is deepening penetration into large and mid-sized enterprises. It listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market in October 2024.

Business Model

The corporate service "Schoo for Business" uses a fixed monthly pricing structure of ¥1,815 (tax included) per ID (volume discounts available). It operates on a stock-type structure in which revenue accumulates as long as contracts remain in force, with recurring revenue accounting for 91.6% of total company revenue. The company uses MRR, number of contracted companies, and ARPA as key KPIs, pursuing a strategy of expanding MRR by maintaining retention rates through customer success efforts and raising ARPA through upselling.

Company Strengths

Holds over 9,000 in-house-developed learning content items accumulated over more than 10 years since founding (as of end-September 2025), and approximately 1.35 million active members. By standardizing the infrastructure shared between corporate and individual services, the company has built a unique value chain that enables it to provide corporate clients with products optimized through feedback from highly motivated learners.

ARPA expanded roughly twofold, from ¥58 thousand at the end of Q2 FY2022 (ending September 2022) to ¥113 thousand at the end of Q4 FY2025 (ending September 2025). The Net Revenue Churn Rate has remained at a low level of around 1% on a trailing 12-month average basis, with revenue expansion from existing customers and high retention rates supporting MRR growth.

Following the issuance of new shares in connection with the listing on the TSE Growth Market in October 2024, the equity ratio improved substantially to 53.89% at the end of FY2025 (ending September 2025), up from 26.91% at the end of the previous fiscal year. Cash and cash equivalents stood at ¥2,946,270 thousand (approximately ¥2,946 million), providing the company with financial flexibility for growth investments.

ENVALITH's Perspective

In H1 FY2026 (ending March 2026), net sales grew to ¥1,749 million (up 4.9% year-on-year), maintaining growth, but SG&A expenses rose 24.3% year-on-year to ¥1,327 million, causing operating profit to plunge to ¥3 million (down 98.3% year-on-year). While cost of sales declined slightly to ¥418 million, the sharp expansion in SG&A expenses squeezed profitability, and investors should carefully assess the structural picture in which deepening investment phases have effectively eliminated profit.

The full-year earnings forecast remains unchanged at net sales of ¥3,908 million (up 16.3% year-on-year) and operating profit of ¥266 million (down 8.3% year-on-year), even though H1 operating profit actually came in at only ¥3 million. Achieving the full-year forecast requires recording over ¥263 million in operating profit in H2 (April 2026 to September 2026), meaning the plan is premised on a significant profit skew toward the second half. Whether the earnings forecast will be revised, along with the feasibility of cost control and sales acceleration in H2, are the key points to watch.

The comprehensive regional HR service offered by LoLLL Inc. (capital of ¥80 million, a wholly owned subsidiary established by the company in April 2026) is positioned as a new growth pillar under the theme of "creating and capturing the regional HR market." While the growing policy focus on regional revitalization and local talent development provides a tailwind as an external factor, there is a risk that subsidiary launch costs will push up expenses in the short term. The timing and scale of revenue contribution remain unclear at this stage, and investors need to closely monitor the expense burden.

Growth Strategy

Pursuing sustainable growth across three axes: enhancing ARPA at large enterprises, expanding into educational institutions, and creating a new regional HR market

Aim to raise the unit price for large enterprise customers through proposals combining the SaaS product with optional services tailored to customer challenges. Also promoting stronger customer support capability through integrated operation of sales and customer success functions. In the interim period, the service for "learners" performed steadily, growing 4.7% year-on-year alongside an increase in ARPA, indicating that the initiative is working.

Promoting the adoption of "Schoo Swing," a learning management platform service for universities and other higher education institutions. In the current interim period, the service for "instructors" grew 10.9% year-on-year (¥48 million), reflecting increasing penetration in the education institution market.

Through the subsidiary LoLLL Co., Ltd. (located in Fukuoka City, capital of ¥80 million, 100%-owned by the Company), established on April 3, 2026, the Company has begun developing and operating comprehensive HR services targeting regional markets. With "creating and capturing the regional HR market" set as a strategic goal, the Company has begun offering regional revitalization-related services. The timing and scale of revenue contribution have not yet been disclosed.

Pursuing a combination of aggressive marketing investment, enhanced nurturing initiatives, and expansion of the sales agent partner network to acquire new customers and expand transactions with existing customers. In the current interim period, selling, general and administrative expenses increased significantly by 24.3% year-on-year, indicating a deepening investment phase.
